  1. Thank You! I would advice everyone with a GS63vr, 73vr or 43vr to take a look at this reddit post if you have any problems with your laptop:
  2. GS63vr or GS73vr if you wan't a portable gaming laptop that doesn't throttle. You can read my review here:
  3. Hi! I'm a Finnish/swedish guy who just bought the gs63vr kabylake FHD model (7RF-218NE) and wanted to share my thoughts. It won't go though everything just talk about whats good and bad. The bad: - The trackpad: I can understand why other reviewers have been complaining about the trackpad. The plastic surface feels cheap and cause more traction than glass. The right and left click is also quite stiff which makes one handed use a little bit harder. The elan touchpad software is ok. This is however not an issue that have bothered me yet. - The speakers: Yes, the speakers don't have any base and the sound can be quite hollow and thin. How bad you ask, well let's put it like this: I would rather listen to music from my galaxy s6 speaker. This bothers me quite a bit if I want to watch movies. I use headphones/speakers when listening to music. - Killer wirless card It sucks! Just like every other laptop with a killer wirless card. Why not use a intel one instead...You can't download something at the same time you wan't to surf the web. If you do the internet dies. Removing all apps and programs from killers and reinstalling drivers made it a little better. This bothers me alot. The meh...., that could have been better: - the screen The IPS sceen that came with this model is the same panel as in the asus strix gl502vs (LG Philips LP156WF6-SPB6, LGD046F) It has good viewing angles but the colours look "dull and dim". I would not recomend this laptop for photo editing. The display is also quite dark, I'm using it on max brightness all the time. - Battery There are only one option which is a 65 wh 3 cell battery. It's a shame that they don't have an option to pick a larger battery and skipp the HDD. The battery holds for 4.5- 5 hours on battery-/ecomode while surfing the web or watching movies which is ok but not great. The good: - Build quality The chassi is solid and feels premium. The laptop is very slim and light. I hate the dragon logo tho. No lightbleed. - Performance It performs really well however there are no diffrence from skylake models. Stock Firestrike score is 9700. - Cooling After undervolting the cpu by 0,120 V and disable turbo boost the CPU never reaches over 70 degrees celcius which is amazing with a laptop this thin. The GPU max out at 78 degrees celcius. This is with fan mode set to auto mode not sport mode and doing 4 firestrike benchmarks in a row and playing H1Z1 for 1,5 hour. They where both reaching up to 85 at stock at sportmode which sounded like a vacuum machine. - Fan sound At first I was disapointed because of a high pitched sound comming from the CPU fan which made me want to kill myself. But instead of doing so I did the CPU fix above and now I bearly here the cpu fan at all. The gpu fans is quite loud but far from to high and won't bother anyone with headphones. Im suprised how silent it is reading all the negative reviews. The fans is not running at all while surfing the web or watching movies. I'm happy with the laptop even with its drawbacks. I'm amazed how much power there can be in so small of a package. The premium you pay for portability is in my mind worth every penny. Hope this helps someone! Cheers! // Lillchillers
  4. The speakers on the new XPS 15 is one of its few weakneses. They are pointed downwards and lack base. It's ok for movies but I would use wireless headphones or speakers if I want to listen to music. They are not bad but below average if you compare similar priced laptops.
  5. Hi! So the new razer blade 1060 is here (omg what a original name) Whats new? - kabylake 7:th gen cpu - 2400mhz ram - 4K UHD option - smaller bezels? Here have sneak peak:
  6. Apple have tricked the consumer that the more aluminium, glass, lighter, slimmer and more unibody the laptop is the better build quality. When its more about aesthetics. It does't matter tho because noone buys a apple laptop to game where you load both the GPU and CPU. The razer blade however it will matter because it's adverticed as a gaming laptop. They chose aesthetics over BUILD QUALITY which will mean that putting it through frequent gaming load will risk hardware failures. The xps 15 is not adverticed as a gaming machine either, even if it can play most games at 1080p 60 fps on high settings. The build quality is ok for beeing so aestheticly pleasing. I'm going to buy the XPS 15.

  8. Well you are using the term build quality quite wrong. Build quality doesn't meen aluminium and slim body. Build quality is how well they planned their build and which quality of material they have used in the machine. A good build quality should mean that the laptop will have a long life without any hardware failures. Apple have tricked the consumer that the more aluminium, glass, lighter, slimmer and more unibody the laptop is the better build quality. When its more about aesthetics. The aero 14 is a mix of good build quality in a slim formfactor, but yes its aesthetics won't win any awards. Hope this Helped!
  9. The MSI GS63VR won't suit you as it's battery is crap (around 3h). It's a shame that they don't have an option without the HDD and bigger battery. Same goes with the Asus one. The Razer Blade is very portable and look very good. The problem is that its not well made if you look under the hood. It could be a very good machine if you are lucky, except the load fans both during load and idle. The quality control and support is bad. Prepare to pay alot of money if something brakes after one year of use. Gigabyte Aero 14 seems to be very good. I haven't found any common complaints about it yet. It will probably be the best buy from these options.
  10. How are they able to have a HK i7 processor in that small form factor. Even the HQ processors throttle in most slim laptops. Shame that you can't buy aorus or even a normal gigabyte laptop here in Finland/Sweden...
  11. Great! I have seen that a lot of people have done the repaste and fixing the GPU VRAM. But I havent seen any graphs on how much it effects temps or performance in the xps 15. Is it worth the risk for a guy who even struggle putting a IKEA furniture together? and does it avoid the warranty?
  12. Thanks for the feedback! How was the temps in the Xps 15 during load (gaming), any throttling? I would probably have picked the Ailienware If I where 10 years younger. Having a laptop with an alienhead and flashing neon signs like a disco/spaceship doesn't work well when I try to look like a professional physician :D.
  13. Yes it does, they even say on their site that you can buy additional memory separately.
  14. It will only be the 1050 4GB. Early benchmarks say that its on par with the 965m (20-30% faster than 960m).
  15. Yes I´m aware of the latency. A lot of peoples have complained about it and I hope they have manage to make it better in the 9560. It will never be a gaming monitor of course, but I can´t handle to much ghosting I guess you are one of the many that had the first released units which where a nightmare. In my understanding almost everything have been fixed except the fans in idle which is still spinning at 20% speed. (No stutter, temp < 85 Celsius, 9200-9600 Fire-strike score) However they still have bad Quality control which means some ppls are getting bad units.
