Trying to get a dual monitor setup to work, but annoying and constant flickering is making it practically impossible to use my second monitor. The flickering monitor is an old LCD CTX brand monitor (model S761) which has a hardwired VGA cable that works fine on my other desktop while using a DVI to VGA adapter. Considering I do not have a working VGA port on my main desktop, I have to use an HDMI to VGA adapter running into my GPU (a GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM).I have done a bit of troubleshooting and will list off some key points which could narrow down the problem.-The HDMI to VGA Adapter worked fine when running from my Xbox One into my current monitor (not the CTX).-When I first plugged in the CTX monitor, my GPU fans started working very hard (they are usually always silent). Both of the monitors turned off and I had to restart my PC to get my main one working again. This never happened again in my troubleshooting though,-The CTX monitor will flicker even if it's the only monitor plugged in.-When both are plugged in, the monitors will both flicker back and forth. One will flicker, then turn go black. Then the other turns on, flickers, then black. The cycle loops until I unplug the CTX monitor.-I've been able to (with great difficulty) look into the display settings of the CTX monitor, but it only allows me to switch between resolutions, not refresh rate. It seems to be locked at 60hz with the option grayed out, not allowing me to change it.-I have uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics card drivers and also updated to the latest Windows 10. Couldn't find a driver for the CTX monitor that didn't seem shady. Any link would be greatly appreciated.-Might be a moot point, but being a little absent-minded, forgot my (idle) Rift S was using a DisplayPort on my GPU. Unplugged thinking that could be overworking my GPU, but no change. Still flickering. All in all, I'm not an absolute tech genius, but my main guess would be my GPU is defective? I've had it for about 2-3 years at this point, but honestly, this guess is a shot-in-the-dark.If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
