Throw some super techy words at them and they'll shut up.

MrMiniBeast got a reaction from Bansh33 in Car speaker help?
well i may upgrade it in the future but im not going to at the time being because it costs a lot with the wiring harnesses and everything so should i just get some $30 name brand speakers then and look for a header unit down the line if i want to improve sound quality?

MrMiniBeast got a reaction from raptorjesusthemessiah in Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?
So in fifth grade after lunch twice a week we'd go to "Roots and Wings" which was a gifted program. Since we were missing part of lunch and recess, we could take a small snack and even a drink to the class. Well I brought my chocolate milk with me and ended up spilling it right onto my teacher's keyboard. I had to scrub it for a long time, but thank God the computer still worked. Students at my old school now are not allowed to have food or drinks anywhere in the school besides the cafeteria, and that's partly my fault.

I bet none of you have spilled chocolate milk on a teachers laptop. It was bad...

I'm still in amazement of this whole command line idea.
I've been into computers for a while but never learned this... it's some cool stuff.

MrMiniBeast reacted to HexaGuy in Book for Electronic and Robotic shtuff
Once you delve into the world of robotics, you'll never come back! Expensive hobby for sure, but it rewards you. There are a couple of forums I know, but activity is very low. The hobby robotics community is very small, and no new innovations have been made lately. PM me if you want more info.

Both have stores and resources that you can use. Good luck!

MrMiniBeast reacted to helping in What to do with my Pi
I assume the OP and the rest of the readers aren't idiots and don't need a paragraph to convey an idea.
I'm sure they know what I mean and understand how to implement a 'car PC'
If you don't like my posts, are offended by them, or find them to be lacking description, in the top right drop down menu, click on "My settings" and go down to the "Ignore preferences" sub menu where you can "helping" to your ignore list.
You can also click on "Manage ignore prefs" in the same drop down menu, as it's a bit shorter.

MrMiniBeast reacted to helping in Raspberry Pi to Car Stereo Harness
It would work
to clarify; it would work in the same way a Diablotek or Logisys PSU would power your PC and Toothpaste and Ketchup will cool it.
(meaning fuck no)
you would need something like
http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R250X4-4-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00BF6HYAW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1397095281&sr=8-5&keywords=4+channel+amp
or at the cheapest
http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-ZRX600-4-Car-Amplifier/dp/B007162ZEU/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1397095281&sr=8-14&keywords=4+channel+amp
if you wanted to add a sub and save some cash at the same time, you could get a 5 channel amp.
Decent car audio isn't cheap, if you don't have the money to invest don't bother beyond stock.

MrMiniBeast got a reaction from geforceftw in Raspberry Pi to Car Stereo Harness
I watched the video that Poohy14 posted and I looked it up on wikihow and I get how the amp would connect to the speakers.
Before I buy an amp though is there anything in particular I should look for? I want it to be dirt cheap but still work if at all possible.
Would this work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZA0JA5440&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-_-pla-_-Car+Amplifiers-_-9SIA0ZA0JA5440&ef_id=UsW57wAAAUxBjB39:20140410013627:s
To be honest I feel like that defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to achieve. I'm trying to avoid buying an aftermarket radio so I'll look into the amp.

I have a Subaru Outback 2004 and want to install a stereo so I can plug in my ipod. The one I chose is this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EPY0JD0/ref=gno_cart_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2YP0EJE3XQ4OW
What I need to know is what else I need to go along with this. I found this cite here which sorta helps
http://www.aius.net/vehicleproducts.php?y=933
I guess what I'm really wondering is whether I need both harnesses. How exactly do the electronics work...
I understand I need the din holder thinger.
If anybody could help me out I'd be very thankful

btw I have crimps I'm using instead of soldering

MrMiniBeast got a reaction from kirashi in Why do people hate Windows 8 ??
The problem at least for me is that 8 seems like it'd work a lot better for a touchscreen. If you have a touchscreen I'd recommend it over 7, but if you don't I'd stick with 7.
The UI on 7 seems better to me, but it's just opinion. Go with whichever system you feel comfortable with.

I'll think about it, but does everybody agree that a 250gb would be the way to go?
