Hello Linus Fanatics,
I need help for a PC that im building right now.
I bought a used Motherboard because I needed one with 4 DIMM Slots and LGA1151v2 Support (A Socket that is compatible with the 8. & 9. Gen of Intel CPUs).
When I plugged everything in, and seated in 4 RAM Sticks in the DIMM Slots, the PC refuses to post.
I tried to put in one 8GB Stick in every slot, and after my theory, only the Slot 3 and 4 are posting.
This isn't my only problem though...
I put in my M.2 SSD in the Motherboard and it looks like that it doesn't have a connection since the BIOS doesn't recognize it being plugged in.
I reseated the M.2 SSD and RAM multiple times with no avail.
The M.2 SSD contains my Windows Boot Manager with 64-bit Windows 10 and my not-backupped stuff.
System Specs:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z370-HD3
CPU: Intel i5-8400
RAM: 32GB of 4 naked Samsung DDR4 Sticks (2666MHz) and spare Corsair Vengenance PROs 16GB DDR4-3200 (for testing if it goes through post)
GPU: MSI AERO Nvidia RTX 2060 Single-Fan
SSD: Western Digital 500GB Blue NVME M.2 SSD
Case: NZXT H510
Power Supply: Thermaltake RGB PSU 500W
That's all the Info I can give right now, but i'm not at Home right now.
I still need to try:
- Updating the BIOS
- Cleaning the DIMM and M.2 Slots with Isopropyl Alcohol
Thanks if you're reading this or be helpful about my situation...
