  1. TLDR: I spent around $2,291 on gas for my car alone last year (Not counting my wifes).

I drive around 20k-30k a year sometimes a little more. I currently get around 30mpg in my Subaru with gas hanging out around $2.75ish average in my area. This last year I drove around 25k miles.

25,000 divided by 30mpg is 833.3 gallons of gas in the past year. 833.3 x 2.75= $2,291 in the past year.

I don't use one on mine, and after almost two years it's fine.

Well I guess you guys are helping me reinforce my gut feeling of skipping the screen protector.

Are laptop touchscreens usually glass of some sort? I would assume so but really have been lacking in my knowledge of laptop screens.

  3. Hello everyone it's been a long time since I've been on the forums. I did try searching for this topic prior to posting however I couldn't find anything. (I probably didn't do it right so my apologies.)

I just ordered up a Matebook 13 and it's my first ever touchscreen laptop. I had never even thought about a screen protector for a laptop prior to seeing it pop up as a suggested item at checkout on Amazon. My question for you guys is should I get a screen protector or pass on it?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and time!

Could I load Ubuntu onto it and change the GPU bios that way then boot bk into windows

Is reinstalling windows completely out of the picture?

Maybe disconnect your drive and attempt starting the process of a reinstall to see if it will even post into a windows install.

I don't have onboard graphics on with mobo and I don't have another graphics card to hand at the moment to test with

    Oh, my bad sorry.

Sounds like booting into safe mode is by far the best action at the moment. If that goes nowhere then time for a new course of action.

  6. That system is starting to get pretty dated. It really depends on what you are doing with photoshop and what your standards are for the running of photoshop. Overall that will run the program fine I just want to stress the fact I think you could see some limitations depending on the workload intended.

I think for your school work tasks that should be plenty.

I really like ^^^ the photo. Great contrast, good lighting and detail. My only critique is the front claw being out of frame and the eye is out of focus. Great job!

The photo is quite vivid and I really enjoy the colors. In some ways seems a little overwhelming but that may just be me.

  8. My motto is any job is a good job. Employers like to hire people who have a history. Getting experience in the workforce is worth working for very little money.

I currently paint houses 6 days a week and the 7th day I am an EMT on an ambulance. EMS is the job I want but I do not have the experience or qualifications to do it full time so I work what I can. It's all about the experience.

  9. As the title says I am looking into this career path and was wondering if any members on here are currently Paramedics?

What are your thoughts about someone 19 going to paramedic school?

I am currently an EMT and my family has been in the business for as long as I can remember. I do work part time on an ambulance as an EMT  and love it to death (No pun intended)

    Thanks in advance!

(I hope this is an allowed post. Its been almost a year sense I have logged on.)

  10. I am looking to find the prefect new computer for my work.

I need something small and light yet powerful.

I will be using this to run a local server and text editors...And light Photoshop.

I have $800 to spend what would you all recommend?

This is what I am looking at as of now: http://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-UX305LA-13-3-Inch-Titanium-Windows/dp/B013KKANTE/ref=sr_1_9?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1445192697&sr=1-9&refinements=p_n_intended_use_browse-bin%3A9647498011

Edit: I can use my desktop for anything that gets over the top in photoshop!

  11. Great colours with the sky looking amazing.  I would have changed the framing to make it more interesting; the subject is pretty much in the dead centre.  The noise is only noticeable when zoomed in, so unless you are printing in a large format not too bad.

A photo I took in Avignon France last Sunday.

I really do like the idea and location...But the photo really is not doing it for me.. The focus in the center and the angle is not that great. 6/10

  12. Ahh I love pictures like this. The area that is in focus could be a little bigger, but that is me nit-picking a lot. 8/10 :)

    Wow, I really like it!!

    Pros:

    Location

    Framing

    Focus

I also really like how the bridge gives so much depth to the photo! (Nice angle)

    Cons:

Overall the photos lighting is just not that great. (Half is super bright and half is very dark)

Overall: I really like this image and its got a lot to look at :) 8.5/10

    Here is mine :)

  13. Looks good, but I'd probably want a more defined subject. Like the tone though!

Taken with a Canon 70D with kit Len (18-135)

I am sorry this photo really is not doing it for me... 4/10

    pros:

    The sunset

    The location

    Cons:

    The focus

    The framing

The horizon is not flat at all.

This is a shot I got this past weekend out climbing :) Was taken on a Cannon T3 with a 18-270mm it is also unedited! :)

  14. So I am livig in a house for just the summer and can not start an internet contract there. There is a store across the road that has free wifi and they have told me I am free to use it as I please its about 350ish feet away with a clean line of site across a busy street. Right now I have two bars using this http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F9K1106/ the thing is it is really slow and the nextwork drops a lot.

So what would you guys recomend?
