  1. I picked up a set of 3 Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp 27in monitors off my local facebook marketplace but they all were missing their stands. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best bang for the buck vesa wallmount you could get for monitors between 24-40 inches?
  2. I didn't consider the board could of been blank thank you for catching that though cause now I was able to boot into windows
  3. The board was pulled from an old precision t3600 and I have been trying to find how to get the service tag without having the original case. I am currently stuck on the maintenance screen so that I can go to the best screen and configure the motherboard I do have the dp/n number but not the actual serial to look up the service tag. Any help in being able to find the service tag or the serial to aquire the service tag would be greatly appreciated.
  4. so the thing is my motherboard I got (dell precision t3600 to pair alongside a Xeon E5 2650 v2) is a btx form factor and it's Proprietary battery won't fit in an atx case, so I actually need the opposite done, I'm not asking to have like the greatest case made, I just need something that will mount the weird dimmensions of the switching power supply and the btx motherboard so that the psu and the i/o shield sit flush in the back.
  5. So I've been building a workstation rig on the cheap, however I've run into a problem where the battery and motherboard use the old BTX form factor rather than standard ATX, but rather than trying to hack up a case to mod it for BTX, I'd much rather work with a company (or an individual) who can do it professionally. Does Anyone have any leads on someone to work with for this?
  6. unfortunately we were not successful as the ecc memory refuses to boot with the makeshift adapter, I've decided the best plan of action then is get the OEM PSU and the power distribution board, and find a way to mount in inside of the case, updates soon.
  7. hopefully either today or tomorrow completes the build, I spent the last 4 hours making an adapter for the 24 pin to use dells proprietary layout:
  8. Budget (including currency): 250 usd Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Davinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, OBS Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): GTX1050TI, Cooler Master Masterbox 5 (build would be around 350 including the graphics card and the case.) These parts we have received: Processor: Xeon E5-2650 V2 8 Cores 16 Threads 2.6 ghz 3.5ghz Turbo: 30 USD Motherboard: Dell T Precision 3600 Server Board: 45 USD Ram: 32 GB Crucial DDR3 ECC Memory @1600mhz for Dell Precision T3600: 65 USD Cooler: Enermax ETS-T40 Fit up to 200W TDP Air Cooler for Lga 775/1366/1150/2011: 29 USD These parts we are still waiting on: Storage: Kingston 240gb SSD Sata 3 2.5": 26USD Western Digital 1TB Blue 7200RPM Sata 6 Gb/s: 40usd 8in 24 Pin ATX 2.01 Power Extention cable Atx (m) to Atx (f): 6 Usd 6 Pin PCIE M to Female Power Extension Cable: 3.5 USD Part we need to return: EVGA 500B 80+ BRONZE PSU: 47usd Parts in consideration after the PSU return: Antec EA-650 Green 12V 80+ Bronze 650W Psu: 48 usd Hurdles about this build: We will need to do something similar to what Linus did in scrapyard wars with the Lenovo pcs where we have to rewire the power supply to work on the proprietary pinout, luckily someone on the Hardware Canucks forum named Enaberif has already successfully done this and has provided a pinout map of the connector The ECC memory only works with a 630W + PSU from the server it was supposed to be in, so unless we have a way to ignore the ECC requirement, we will need to ship back the PSU we bought on ebay to find something with a 650W+ 80+ bronze rating that will still fit in our budget. (has to be around or the same price we paid for the 500W unit). Soldering Iron Required, I do not own one myself, but I have a friend in town in one who will let me use theirs, so additional cost for solder is also something to keep in mind. If anyone can I need recommendations on any old PSUs [pref with an 80+bronze rating] that they could recommend within the budget of 48-50 usd that have the ketchup and mustard cables so that I wouldn't feel bad destroying a modern psu for this, thank you in advance!
  9. it will turn on the igpu if the card is unplugged, I think its an issue with trying to run the igpu's radeon software and the nvidia drivers at the same time, so I've been trying to source an rx 570 to see if that is the case.
  10. did just that and I still can't get a display on the igpu and the gpu at the same time here's the settings I have in the bios: Initial Display: PCI Slot 1 [1050ti] Internal Gpu [Force] w 128mb
  11. I was able to get the igpu to display with force but when I try to use my dedicated gpu it keeps giving me an error in windows display settings saying "display not dectected" as my gpu sits there spinning its fan, I'm not sure if it's a compatibility issue with the igpu where I need something like an rx570-580 which is also radeon graphics or if its just an issue with the 1050ti itself.
  12. Specs: Ryzen 3 2200G w/ Vega 8 Graphics 8 GB Kingston Value 2600 Gigabyte AB350m-Dsh3 Zotac Gtx 1050ti 2 500GB Hard Drives @7200RPM EVGA Supernova 500w 80+ Bronze PSU Bios Version: F50D Windows 10 64 Bit The issue I'm having is within the bios itself as for my IGPU there's supposed to be 3 options [Auto], [Enable], [Disable] however I'm running into an issue where I only get 3 different options [Force], [Disable], [Auto] and the enable tab is what I need to be able to run a monitor off the apu alongside a monitor off the gpu, following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmIOuruxGfY I've tried updating the Vega 8 gpu, putting the gpu in the other pci slot, running a windows update, updating the bios, rolling back the bios to an older version and I'm stumped. any help would be appreciated so I can run my vga monitor for light tasks through the apu and then game & run Obs's nvenc encoder with the 1050ti, thank you in advance to anyone who helps me solve this.
  13. I picked up a low profile Radeon 7450 for an arcade emulation box and while the card is functional I get a lot of Gpu sag having it in my case since it wasn't built for standard mid towers, does anyone have recommendations on bracket extentions/replacements?
  14. I keep hearing about the intellimouse, how is it performance wise? I don't use a mousepad half the time and if I do I just grab one of my magic the gathering playmats instead so I don't think it makes much of a difference haha.
  15. def has the colors I'm looking for but I don't know how I feel about the cheese grader aesthetic of it, I feel like having all that space for its rgb are too loud for a pc that's supposed to be a sleeper.
  16. So I'm in the middle of building a sleeper and I've already sourced a case, a keyboiard, a crt monitor and I'm going to paint the modern second monitor's shell a similar beige to have that 80s computer aesthetic. I am struggling to find a modern mouse that has the same color aesthetic that has 2000 dpi or higher, I was looking into older mice like the microsoft wheel optical mouse but at 400 dpi it didn't seem like it would be worth it. Any recommendations?
  17. That's why I mentioned modern-ish, the 900 series is def in the vein of what I'm looking for but realistically anything within the 750-950 line of cards will work with it, my friend Streamlord on twitter has a similar set-up for retro games using a gtx 545, but I don't want to have the gpu be a bottle neck depending on how much retroarch will need in the system, which is why I mentioned the GT 1030 in the original post since it's a pascal card with GDDR5 & a native VGA port. All active Analog to digital converters will introduce some amount of input delay which is what we're trying to avoid at all costs. It doesn't, but I'm more worried that introducing an Nvidia card along side it in the rig might cause power draw issues + it would give me better upgradability in the future for a better Ryzen like a 2600 and a proper cooler to be able to have it be stable at all times I don't plan on moving again but I had to lug my rig on a Greyhound when I got here, and the acryllic cracked and eventually broke because of the turbulence of the bus, However you may be right that it would now be better with an older case, would love to hear recommendations on any if you have some in mind.
  18. My channel is primarily retro game focused and while having a capture card and a crt is what I'm currently doing and the preferred method to stream Retro Content, I wanted to come up with a 1 system solution to not have any outside capture cards from the rig itself because having all 6-8 of my game consoles on the desk at once causes a lot of clutter overall. Here's what we're looking to do: Why a CRT monitor in 2020, you're going to have input delay with a modern gpu right?: _________________________________________________________________________________ What we're after for the second gpu is one with a Dvi-I input, DVI-I is an interlaced signal between DVI-D and DVI-A, and that DVi-A signal is 1 to 1 with VGA, so with a VGA to DVI-I adapter, we should Theoretically not get any lag in games whatsoever from the display. As for input lag, Emulation Hub RetroArch has introduced a new feature: Run Ahead Latency, with it you can set the Frames ahead of the input delay typically in an emulator (2 Frames ahead for SNES9X's 2 frames of natural input delay for example) to make the inputs virtually the same as on Console + CRT My Current Rig is this: __________________________________________________________________________ MOBO: Gigabyte GA-AB35J0M-HD3 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor, 3200 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Cooler: Stock RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8.00 GB DDR4 @ 2833 MHZ HDD: 1TB WD Blue @7200 RPM GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 550 DirectX 12 GV-RX550D5-2GD REV 2.0 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x8 ATX Video Card PSU: EVGA 500 BR, 80+ Bronze 500W Case: Cooler Master Master Box 5 [Partially Broken (acryllic side panel is broken)] _________________________________________________________________________ Peripherals: Red Dragon M601 Gaming Mouse Blackweb Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (Broken) BenQ XL2411 144HZ 1Ms Monitor [Bottom of the screen is all dead pixels] LCD TV as a second monitor (Broken) Logitech G430 Headset Official Wii U Gamecube Adapter (GCN to USB) _________________________________________________________________________ What we Need to Find: * A New Case with Better airflow: While I love the MB5, after it was damaged in transport when I moved it made me realize how flimsy some parts of the case are overall, we're looking for something that's a similar size with standard threading, but has a better build quality. This one from NZXT seems like it has a lot more air flow overall. *A Mic + Arm Combo for Streaming: After having this headset break and for me to take streaming more seriously I think investing in an actual microphone setup at this point is crucial. currently looking at this one by FiFine, who were featured in Linus' Microphone round up as the best entry level mic, and they might still be the best value here. *A Second Gpu with VGA or DVi-I that is modern-ish: We're looking for something DDR4 or Better here, right now I have my eyes on this zotac 1030 gt, which has a native VGA port, DDR5 and runs on the pascal architecture. * A New 144Hz 1MS Monitor for when we play more modern titles: Simple Enough, looking for the best bang for the buck monitor here that let's us play more modern e-sports titles like League, Overwatch, Cs:Go etc. This one from Acer looks good, but there are probably better options. * A B450 Motherboard: That old B350 Mobo is probably holding the rig back in general, with only 2 Dim Slots for Ram we're stuck at our 8gbs of Ram, and that's not good as a content creator, I think this b450 tomahawk looks pretty solid, but I want more input to see if there's a better value for what we need * A Better Power Supply: That 500W Mustard and Ketchup PSU is still good, but it might not have enough power to drive an older gpu that's more power hungry, we're probably going to want to find something in the 750W Range (maybe even modular if we can budget for it,) *An SSD: It's 2020 and I'm still going without one which is killing my productivity and meaning that Windows 10 and OBS isn't running as fast as they could be. I always see some kind of Samsung SSD in everyone's rig so I'm assuming this 860 is good for its current sale price. *A Better cooler + fans to OC the Ryzen better to be able to increase productivity overall: The stock cooler is good but it's not letting me push the cpu to its full potential, I'm unsure what I could get in this budget though. I'm welcome to all suggestions and improvements to make sure that I'm not wasting money where I don't need to, thank you <3.
