    Kryptyx got a reaction from shadow_ray in Mysql - How to sort ID by results of another table? (time)
    Couldn't you just select from the `messages` table directly?

    SELECT * FROM `messages` WHERE `self_id` = 459937721 ORDER BY `time` DESC;
    There are a few things I would change with the schema as a whole. I would add foreign key constraints and potentially cascade on delete. Also `self_id` should probably be `member_id` since that seems to represent the data more accurately.

    To add to all of this, redis or a pub/sub system like AWS SNS or Pusher would be more ideal than MySQL.

    Hmm maybe I should rethink how the benchmarks should be classified. It was my intent to have high-end systems bench on fire strike extreme, average systems on fire strike and lower end on sky diver. This way we could keep everyone in their respected tier and they could relate their systems to others of a similar build.
    Perhaps all SLI/cf configs should be on extreme.

Much thanks to Jumper118 for maintaining the Valley thread found here. I will be maintaining 3 different benchmarks to start, I will add more if needed later on.

    I don’t know why you assume that he/she doesn’t have the technical know-how to do it. I’m so tired of all these answers that tell people to just “go buy a new card/hardware.” If this person is anything like myself and I’m guessing they are, they like to tinker and see what they can get by with sometimes and the person that told him to “get a job and buy a new card,” is a total jackass because they have no idea where the person lives, the shape that the pc component market is in where the poster lives, and what their financial situation is. I’m on here because I was wondering the same thing. My son has an Alienware Steam Machine R1 and he doesn’t want to replace it so I’m looking for ways to squeeze a little extra out of it. The GPU is not upgradable. I may never attempt this but I’m still curious and may do so just to try to prove all the negative douche bags on here wrong. I do a lot of fabrication when I build systems because sometimes it’s just easier to take an amd cpu cooler and an intel cooler and Frankenstein them together to work on the setup you are building instead of ordering one. I used that example because I just did that recently. I soldered an amd bracket to an old aftermarket celeron cooler and used an adapter ring to fasten it to an 1155 intel socket. I do shit like that all the time because I find it much more fun than just “buying parts and sticking them in the slot.”  Long story short, stop giving advice that goes directly against what the poster is asking. If you don’t have an answer then stay quiet. With all that said, I know this post is old but yes as long as you make contact at all points of the memory then it should work. Just like a cpu the gpu has a maximum amount of operating memory so as long as you don’t go over the highest amount they sell for that chip then you’re Golden.

    Keep the 1080ti (3440 x 1440 is a nice sweetspot for the 1080ti as it isn't as demanding as 4k), and depending on what you plan to use this build for, maybe going for the 8 core instead of the 12 core might make more sense.

    If you're a streamer then the Ryzen 9 chips are interesting choices, but otherwise the 6 and 8 core chips are where you want to be. 3700x is the best choice for you probably. You wanted to last a while so as games change to focusing on 8 cores 16 threads instead of currently 6 cores 12 threads, the 3700x will begin to become beneficial. The 3800x is a waste of money in my eyes when the 3700x can likely overclock very similarly.

    Stick with the Hero because the Formula is looking like an unnecessary overpriced ASUS moneygrab from what the rumored prices are saying ($700..). If you're going to spend huge money on the motherboard, the x570 Aorus Xtreme is the way to go because it has no chipset fan. If they lower the Formula to 500 then it becomes a more interesting board though.

    I'm not an expert on watercooling so I'll leave that to someone else.

    Kryptyx got a reaction from xWood4000 in PSA: Synergy 2.0 is terrible!
    I discovered Synergy, a program by Symless, through one of the ad spots on the LTT videos. It worked great, exactly as advertised and well worth the purchase. However, they've recently released a 2.0 version which removes a lot of functionality and even becomes completely unusable when their "auto-config" service is down - which happens very often. I have reached out to their support forums and found many other users complaining about this newer version as well. To make it worse, there is a $49 upgrade fee to go from 1.0 Pro to 2.0 Pro. The 1.0 version allowed you to configure hotkeys, remap keybinds, setup dead zones, start and stop the service and so much more while the new 2.0 version has literally zero options. The only way to stop the 2.0 program is to go into Window services and stop it. On a Mac, you need to run a shell command as root. I wouldn't have a problem if this was labeled as beta or if the upgrade was free but that isn't the case. To make it worse, there are many times when the new version cannot connect to their "auto-config" service which makes the program completely useless.

    I know LMG takes its advertisers serious and I hope this will draw a little attention and save people money/hassle involved with the newer version. Stay away from the 2.0 and stick with 1.8.

    Thanks for the suggestion @GoodBytes! As you guessed though, I am using Synergy for the cross-platform functionality. Synergy 1.8 is still great but after being spammed with "Upgrade to Synergy 2.0 today!" nearly every day in my inbox I discovered the hard way that it is a mess. Even today I tried using 2.0 and the auto-config service was down again. To make it worse, their support is away until January 8th! I guess they like to take long vacations now that they charged all those upgrade fees...

    Really hope LMG does a PSA on it if they are going to continue to support and advertise them.
