  1. Hi all! I am new to this forum, but every time I search for knowledge about PC systems there’s a topic on the LTT forums to help. And I need help. I tried to plunge into watercooling years ago, but didn’t get far. Now with all the new stuff coming out I dug out all my components from 10 years ago. Among these are an Aquacomputer Aquastream XT Ultra - never used so I was hoping it would’ve worked just as good as a brand new. Alas when filling a small test loop, connecting the molex connector and jumping the PSU the pump gives a thump and the PSU turns off. I then have to wait for a couple of seconds before I can turn on the PSU again. To me it sounds as if the pump’s starting current is too much for the PSU to handle, but I just don’t understand it - it’s a Corsair HX1000W. Granted this PSU is also 10 years old, but I haven’t tortured it and I have tested it with my new motherboard, Ryzen 3800X and so on without a problem. So it must be an issue between pump and PSU, but I can’t understand what. I know it’s an exotic pump and a old PSU, but I hope that there are some bright minds here that can shine a light on my problem! Thanks!
