  1. Hey all. Scored a 3090FE yesterday so looking to make sure everything is nice and stable before I slap it in my build. Seems I have a bit of a problem though. I've got an old gold label Corsair RM850. Turns out that it isn't providing clean enough power for my system. Currently testing power limits with: 3900x (modest offset undervolt of -0.125mv), HWinfo reports a peak P95 power draw of about 190w. ASUS ROG Strix 2080ti OC. This is where I'm getting the feeling that I won't be able to run a 3090 off of this PSU. I can game and run stress tests and benchmarks stable at 90% and 100% power limits, but once I bump that up to 110 or 125 I get app crashes, Blue screens, and hard system crashes. This is concerning since, according to the information available so far, a 125% 2080ti strix pulls as much or less power than the 3090 FE at stock. To remedy this I've been looking at a replacement psu. Right now I'm trying to choose between 3 based on the tier list. 1) 850w Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 80+Gold 2) 850w be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 80+Platinum Multi rail 3) 1000w FSP Hydro G Pro 80+Gold Right now I'm leaning toward the be quiet unit just to make sure I get the most efficiency as I can, but it is $70 more expensive than the Thermaltake. The FSP is only up for consideration due to overkill complex, but I'm not even sure if a1000w 80+gold is even going to supply much more peak power than an 80+platinum 850w anyway. And that's why I'm here. Any input would be appreciated.
  2. Yeah 3440x1440. If it's just black bars then I'll go ultra wide. Probably won't run into trouble unless I go for an older game I guess anyway. Thank you.
  3. Hey all. Going to be buying a new display today to replace my Samsung C32HG70 and I need some input before I pull the trigger. Right now I'm tossed between the Acer Predator XB271HU (27" wide 1440p, IPS, G-Sync, 144-165Hz, 4ms response time) and the Acer Predator X34 (34" ultrawide 1440p, IPS, G-Sync, 100-120Hz, 4ms response time). I was also looking at the Z321QU but it has since gone out of stock. I was also considering a quite nice looking 4k display (Acer Nitro XV273K) but I have doubts about scaling down to 1440p on a 4k monitor. The only thing stopping me from going Ultrawide without questioning it is compatibility worries. 95% of my time using the monitor will be for gaming. Will I encounter any serious problems with compatibility? I don't want to deal with a stretched out or cropped picture. I'm also interested to hear if anyone has a suggestion for anything better than these two (I have scoured the internet to come up with these two honestly. My current buying conditions require the unit to be eligible for Amazon's 5 month payment plan so I can't buy the absolute best available as a result). Thanks.
