  1. Hey everyone back after a while of more use. So after my assumption that the studio driver made the difference, I discovered the crash happening again. It happens exclusively in Lightroom Classic CC 2020 (latest version) - when loading files or loading one photo, the screen goes black then the pc restarts. I am now almost positive that the GPU is at fault. Windows event viewer leaves ZERO trace or any event at the time of the crash. I need your help again!
  2. Ok, so after much testing, I discovered that the Nvidia Studio Driver is the way to go. For whatever reason, the default game-ready driver was causing huge issues with the system and in particular with Adobe apps using the GPU. I recommend to anyone who is having like issues or stability issues to choose the studio driver over the game-ready driver. It's hard to believe one driver can cause so many issues!
  3. UPDATE: After attempting to use Lightroom as normal, I noticed the same crash on import - system froze, screen wen't dark - no trace of any issue in event viewer. Did some more Googling, I read about the nvidia Studio drivers. By default Windows installs the standard or game ready driver. I chose Studio Drivers in GeForce Experience and so far I haven't experienced a crash. I'll have to keep pushing it to test it out. Apparently Lightroom has much better support with this driver. So, could this be a fix, not sure yet - I'll update in a few days to have a better understanding.
  4. I have not tried the iGPU route yet - I will do this and try to see if the 2070 is causing the issue. Also, Im on Bios 1302 for my board - the newest version 1401 just causes instant BSODs. If I recall it gave a different stopcode each time, so I reverted back to 1302 which is stable
  5. I should have mentioned this - yes temps always stayed cool - idle is always around 30 degrees, under load, it spiked to 70 something at max - the CPU that is. GPU also doesn't get much warmer than that either. PSU is no where near full load maxing 350 watts under stress tests
  6. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually just clean-installed windows and upon first log in, it crashed with those base drivers. I will attempt to see if uninstalling one of those base drivers works - will keep you updated. Thanks!
  7. Hey everyone! I'd love your expertise to help me solve this problem of mine. My system recently started freezing then displaying a BSOD when I would do anything CPU intensive. Specifically in Lightroom Classic CC 2020 and Photoshop CC 2020. The cursor would freeze and display would turn off. Sometimes it would give me a stopcode of: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. In my own efforts to troubleshoot, I disabled GPU acceleration in all of my Adobe apps thinking that was the culprit. It did not do anything. Event viewer in Windows has proven to be not helpful as it never records any issues at the time of the crash, just the improper shutdown after I am forced to shit the system off. In addition, I ran a stress test with Aida64, everything passes except 'stress cache' on the CPU. Oddly enough it passes when in safe mode. I did a full windows clean install and right after the setup screen the system just freezes and the display turns off. In safe mode again it is fine. Here are my system specs: CPU: i9-9900K RAM: G.Skill 64GB DDR4 24000 Mobo: ASUS ROG Maximum XI Extreme GPU: Asus ROG Strix 2070 8GB Audio: EVGA Nu Audio Pro (PCIe) Storage: Intel SSD 750 (PCIe), Intel Optane M.2 Memory Module, Samsung SSD Evo 840 (x2) Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2, Seagate 12TB HDD PSU: Corsair HX850i Cooler: NZXT Kraken X72 Case: Phanteks Evolv X Latest drivers installed. Windows 10 64bit Build 19041.1 Any help or assistance to point me in the right direction would be most appreciated! ?
