  1. So, I'm looking at this one then: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KVKRLG2/?ref=idea_lv_dp_ov_d
  2. That's always something to consider, I just want to make sure I'm not always just waiting for the newest thing until I find that I'm never doing an upgrade to wait for the newest and best.
  3. From my Asus Strix 1080Ti I am suddenly getting a funding surge that is allowing me to take a heavier look at 2080ti cards. Now, I've heard about some issues with 2080Ti's that are causing overheating issues in Nvidia cards. I haven't determined if that is true or just a rumor, but I've also been looking at hybrid 2080Ti's as well. SO! My question to you is: Q. If you had to crown a single 2080Ti as the top of the top, whether it be a hybrid card or non, which 2080Ti would you say is the real king of the GPUs currently? With the EXCLUSION of custom liquid cooled cards, because I don't do any custom loop cooling in my builds. The Asus Strix 2080Ti? One of the hybrids? The RTX FTW3 2080Ti? I am looking to get my hands on the best card for a gaming environment that a person can get currently. As always, thanks for any time and knowledge that you can afford me EDIT: I remembered the other question I had now(A few): Q. Would it be better to get a 2080Ti from a 1080 or to two-way SLI the same card? I've never done SLI of cards before. Q. With SLI of cards does the capabilities of this apply to everything or only certain cases? I guess I mean to ask: Is SLI the sort of thing that just runs all the time or do you have to activate it and point it at what you want to use it for.
  4. MSI M-ITX This seems like a good board, and one of the only MSI brands I seem to be able to find so far.
  5. What about the sockets for CPU any differences?
  6. Also, I'm searching within the MSI flavor of boards currently.
  7. In that case all of the same questions for an ITX board versus any ATX?
  8. Basically I'm looking to do a computer build that has the same power as my full sized desktop computer, but that is small enough that I can easily carry it in my arms. I'm not sure where to go to pick a full build of parts that are fully compatible with each other.
  9. Hey all, I'm wondering what the primary differences are between a micro ATX Motherboard and a standard ATX board are. I've come up wit a few questions: Q. What are the CPU socket differences is micro vs standard? Q.Is there a micro ATX board that handles Intel-i9 processors? Q. Do micro ATX boards come with m.2 slots, or, are they m.2 capable? Q. Can you build a gaming computer from a micro ATX board? Q. Do micro ATX boards still hold GPUs like an Asus Strix 1080Ti? Q. What kind of RAM does a micro ATX board hold if not DDR4 and what are it's capacity limits? Q. What words of wisdom/advice can you offer for someone looking to building a tiny gaming computer for their first time ever? Sorry if these are very basic questions, I am thinking in the direction of building a gaming computer as small as possible and this would be the first time ever I've gone in the direction of doing a small build instead of the largest I can think of. As always, I appreciate any time and assistance you can afford me. Thanks!
  10. So, I've recently finished the largest computer build I've ever done out of a Thermaltake WP200 computer case. It's a double computer case that is essentially so large that there is basically no way to move it solo in a way where it can be lifted and moved. I've always built big and I'm not sure why that has been my preference. Now however, I'd like to think in the direction of using my current components to build a desktop computer that would be very easy to move myself and to transport to say a LAN party if I ever decided to go to something like that. I'm hoping someone, reviewing the below hardware, can suggest to me a case I could use that could fit these parts whilst still being small as possible. Here are the parts I use currently: CASE: Thermaltake W200 MOTHERBOARD: MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE PROCESSOR: i9-9900KS COOLER: Corsair Hydro H150i CLC GPU: Asus Strix 1080Ti RAM: Patriot Viper 30GB DDR4-3200 SYSDRIVE: Samsung 970 Pro M.2 SSD I'd be willing to at least consider adjusting parts as needed to create a computer that would be very easy to transport. As always, I appreciate any time and assistance you can afford to provide me with. Thanks!
  11. I'm having this same issue with my computer, but I am using the 9900KS CPU on my band new MSI MEG Z390 Godlike motherboard. I am fairly certain that the issue with mine is that the motherboard needs a BIOS update, but I will find out on Monday. DRAM ERROR 30. I have DDR4-3200 32GB of Patriot Viper memory. I did already try re-seating my RAM but that didn't fix the issue. No signal at all to my monitor by way of DP or DVI to HDMI cable.
  12. So, I wasn't sure what other category to create this in. I feel like I'm never good at internal cable management when I do a build. I have most of my wires bundled accordingly using zip-ties, and I always see amazing looking and super clean computer builds, but then I try to do wiring in my case and there are at least a view wires that are a challenge. I know about cable combs and getting a modular PSU, which I have, with custom braided cabling which I have, so, here I will outline the equipment I'm using and hope that someone can provide me some tips. Case: Thermaltake W200 Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 Godlike CPU: Intel i9-9900 KS CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H150i GPU: Asus Strix 1080Ti PSU: Corsair Ax1200i Cabling: Custom RED braided PSU cabling Case Fans: x3 Tt 120mm fans attached to theH150i radiator(top-mounted) (that the cooler came with). x1 Noctua 140mm 3000RPM exhaust fan (rear-center of case). Case Fan Controller: Tt Commander F6 RGB x6 Channel RAM: Patriot Viper DDR4 32GB @ 3200 MHz System Drive: Samsung 970 Pro M.2 256GB Internal Cabling: Motherboard Power Cable GPU Power Cable CPU Power Cable SATA SSD Power Cable Case Fan Cabling Cabling from the H150i Waterblock All of the cabling leading from the fan controller My computer is currently in the shop right now, but as soon as I get it back I will provide detailed imagery of what I am working with.
  13. I haven't finished the cable management yet that's the only reason it looks that way right now. I ran into this issue and that put a hold on everything. Thanks for the info! Also, I'd have to assume that rtfm means read the f- manual but that'd be just a guess.
  14. So, every video I've seen so far show flashing the BIOS by actually pressing delete at startup and accessing the BIOS to do this. I can't do this because I can't get anything to display on my monitor, and the back of my board doesn't seem to have a FLASH BIOS port that I can find. There is a BIOS Flashback + button but that's it.
  15. Here's some of what I'm seeing. I can't seem to identify the 'Flash BIOS' port on the rear IO panel, at least, none of them appear to be labeled with that. PSU is Ax1200i CPU cooler is Corsair Hydro H150 System drive is a 512 GB Samsung 970 Pro M.2
  16. Not sure if this is right, but now the downloaded BIOS file is MSI.ROM.180 so I'm not sure if I need to change the .180 to .ROM so that the file is literally MSI.ROM with the .ROM as the actual file extension type. It's on a 32 GB FAT32 USB stick and at the root of the stick. I feel like this HAS to be a BIOS issue right? I can't imagine that this board comes by default with the BIOS needed to run to KS so I'm guessing that once I do the BIOS update this will work but I think it's more just me hoping and praying more than anything else. Is there a way to determine what BIOS a motherboard has as its factory default?
  17. Yeah I was considering giving that a try as well. It will be difficult to do because my computer is very very large. I'm using the Thermaltake W200 computer case so right now I think the computer is like 100 lbs or more. It is very large, but if I can't get this to work that would be my next thing to try.
  18. So the file I downloaded is a .180 file. Do I actually change the filename extension type and all to MSI.ROM?
  19. I will definitely give this a try. Man I really hope this works because this computer is thousands$ so far lol and it would suck for it to be toast. Thanks for the info!
  20. Would BIOS update fix this? Or have I somehow gotten a CPU that's incompatible with my motherboard?
  21. Well I don't know anyone with another rig similar to mine, but I will definitely look into trying to flash the BIOS. Thanks!
  22. Yeah I basically removed and re-added the physical RAM itself I'm not sure what more TS for that I can do without having a display, but alright. I will start thinking in the direction of getting a different processor unless there is anything else I can come up with, but so far nothing. Would issues with the processor actually cause there to be nothing to display at all from the GPU? I mean I would think something would appear, an error message, some kind of a boot failure message, but the display is clearly not even recognizing its connection to the GPU at all. I also regrettably cannot return the CPU as it has been sitting un-opened for over a month. In fact, it is brand new out of the box as of a couple of hours ago. I would think it would be working since it's brand new.
  23. How would I do a BIOS update without being able to get to the BIOS, I can't get to that currently.
  24. I've spent the last several months accumulating some of the most expensive PC parts I can buy on the market currently. I have an MSI Meg Z390 Godlike motherboard with an i9-9900KS CPU and an Asus Strix 1080Ti GPU. This is really a last ditch effort for me at this point before I abandon this and just try to sell the hardware. With all of the new hardware hooked up, when trying to use a DisplayPort or DVI to HDMI cable I can't get a single signal to my monitor. I put this all together just today and had a working computer yesterday using the same GPU and an X99S Gaming9 ACK Motherboard and an intel i7-5960X CPU. That ran with no issue. On the new build, the only thing that I can identify from the motherboard is '30 DRAM Error'. I have fully removed and re-connected my graphics card, but nothing. Nothing to my display (Asus PG348Q.) I'm hoping someone can help because I can't think of anything else to try to fix this. This was supposed to be an upgrade but I can't get anything to work. Please help. Thanks! I have basically nothing to even go on. All of the hardware should be in working order, but there is nothing that reaches the display so there is nothing for me to even research about this. There are not beep codes, all of the lights on the motherboard and GPU are active, the display turns on but just says HDMI no input or DisplayPort no input. I can't even think of where to begin because I have virtually nothing to go on so I am not sure what to do. Does anyone have an idea of what DRAM Error would cover in a case like this?
