I'm SLOWLY digging out from under the mess of this new editor. BRING BACK TEXT TAGS. PRETTY PLZ.
Note: It's getting complete, somehow. Post your complaints corrections and additions below. Everything is my opinion, even if it has a graph or flies in the face of something Linus said.
First watch this:
FAQs:
What's the most important thing I can do to improve my audio experience?
I have a low impedance headset. People tell me that onboard audio is terrible and a dedicated soundcard will improve my audio experience. How much will it really improve?
What is a DAC? How is it different from a soundcard? Which is better?
So, do I need a better soundcard or external AMP/DAC or is my onboard good enough?
I think I need a better soundcard. What should I look for in a sound card or an external AMP/DAC?
What should I look for in a pair of headphones?
I was thinking about buying good high impedance headphones in the future. Should I just get the amp/dac or soundcard now that would drive them, and buy the headphones later?
Should I get a cheap soundcard with virtual surround like dolby headphone or use a headphone with discrete drivers?
But I want a surround sound headset! What are the advantages of a good pair of headphones with a cheap mic?
OK, fine, but can't you just tell me what to get already and be done with it? This is all very confusing!

Closed: Beyerdynamic DT770, V-Moda M100, or Shure 440 with 840 pads
Open: Mayflower Modded Fostex T50RP (Actually semi-open), Beyerdynamic DT880/990, Sennheiser HD518/HD558, AKG K612, Phillips Fidelio X1, or Hifiman HE400
Add on a modmic to any of these headphones.

If you want to splash some cash then the Beyerdynamic MMX300 is a good choice. Otherwise the HyperX cloud is the way to go.

Tek_Addict reacted to kaiqi07 in Build Log Submission Thread! March 2014
I wish I am in time for the submission.
Thread URL : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/108774-build-log-project-rampage-ii-caselabs-sth10-tri-sli-780ti-full-wc/
Description :
This is the successor build for my previous build Project Rampage, this build is codenamed Project Rampage II. The initial plan for the build is very simple, which is just upgrade the casing from Corsair 800D to Caselabs STH10 or Corsair 900D and also add in one more radiator to the loop.
But as the build starts, more ideas flow in and in became a major upgrade to all aspects, watercooling, thermal control, performance, aesthetic, cable management.
I am very pleased with this build as this build had been very successful and had acceded what I wish to achieve. Currently the build is fully automated with the thermal control. Cable management had also improved over the previous build as more planning had done in terms of routing the cables as well as custom made PSU cables are made.
In terms of performance, I had replaced the 680 GTX SLI with GTX 780TI 3-Way SLI. This had improved my gaming performance tremendously, as the cards are able to clock higher due to the better water cooling setup I had installed.
Specs of the build:
Samsung S27A850D
Caselabs STH10
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme BF3 Edition
Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600 (8 X 4GB)

Tek_Addict reacted to Bluuz in To LMG: On Fanboys and Trolls in YT comments.
It's come to my attention that in recent videos, you've increasingly acknowledged the fact that people in the Youtube comments have accused you of being paid off or that you're a "brand X" fanboy.
This bothers me because it forces you into a defensive position where it seems you have something to prove against those trolls, where you have to clarify your testing methodology or reiterate a point where you criticized the product.
I raise that rather than acknowledging these comments, you ignore them completely. The only way to deal with these people is to not even acknowledge their existence. The people who post these comments are not open minded individuals who are looking to be better informed on a product choice, they are people who have decided, for example, that AMD is superior to Intel, and anybody who does not acknowledge this is obviously part of a conspiracy that was bribed by Intel. No amount of evidence or convincing is going to displace them from this position, because they've already bought AMD products and for them to acknowledge Intel is superior would reflect poorly on their choices and themselves (it's how fanboys think). Obviously, this doesn't mean you ignore all negative comments, but understand there is a difference between comments trying to give you constructive criticism to help improve your content, and plain garbage. I don't speak for everyone, but as fans of your channel, we understand two things:
1) You do your best to be objective on your reviews and say things how you see it. It's one of the reasons we are fans of your channel. It's normal to subjectively favor one brand over another due to your past experiences.
2) That sometimes you are sponsored or given an incentive to favor one product over another. But as long as you give us a "sponsored by" message, we understand and expect that the video will be biased. We understand you would not take sponsorship from products you do not wholly agree with.
In summary, keep doing what you're doing, but stop feeding the trolls.

Very Nice setup man doesn't look like it needs much at all really maybe try water cooling the Cpu with a H100i or equivalent and if you are interested also try a sound card as a suggestion.
