  1. Hi, So I'm not going to waste time mattering like an old lady over tea. You want 1440P at 60HZ. Easy enough, 3600x or 2600 it doesn't really change my advice a ton. Heres my recommendations from doing multiple builds with each these cards. 1. DON'T GET A 2080. ESPECIALLY NOT USED. Used for 500$ sounds... sketchy to say the least. It's not really worth the risk and if it breaks with no warranty, well your 500 in the hole. It's a bad gamble... 2. RX 5700 XT is great. I personally like the ROG STRIX and Sapphire Nitro versions the best. It can run games very well at your res and refresh. Heck mine runs 4k on max at 60FPS/Hz it's a stable card and it almost never has any thermal problems. 3. 2070 is ok too. Little more spend and honestly pretty balanced power wise it can easily be considered the RX 5700 XT's equal. Its fancy too and if you like sleek this is the card for you. 4. If you want to go budget mode get a 2060 Super. If aesthetically pleasing GPUs and RGB are your thing go with the MSI ventus if not the ROG strix or if money is tight a Zotac. Don't do PNY just don't... 5. Zotac is cheaper than the others. They also make good stuff. I run one of their 2080s in my video editing rig. Don't be afraid to go with a Zotac GPU. 6. RGB. If you just want something cool go with a 2070 or 2060 MSI Ventus OR the Sapphire Nitro RX 5700 XT. 7. NEVER GET A BLOWER CARD There you have it.
  2. Hi, I need to reset a XW8200 that was donated to my non-profit. I can't seem to succeed though. The original owner never removed his password and thus I can't get past welcome. I tried F8 AND F9 AND F10, F11,F12. No dice. I need a way to wipe all the drives COMPLETLY clean without removing them. That or a factory reset. I'm cool with either. Ideas? Suggestions? Ways to get past the password? The PC is running Windows XP professional BTW.
  3. If you do go wireless consider signal degradation as well.
  4. Hi, so you won't need some over fancy crap for a laptop. Most high performance headsets will require an amp to get it done and you probably don't want to deal with that. On my PC I run a full sound system with an amp, mixers that stuff. Its NOT worth it. I get good sound but it is VERY unportable. From personal experiance I would recommend a the following headsets: (Prices are in USD) Corsair Void Pro It's great for glasses folks and fits incredibly well on any head size. It's also a very good value for its cost and if you can find it used you can get it for as low as 25 instead of paying the full 80$ Razer Kraken Good solid headset not too over priced. Hyper X cloud 2 It's a good high quality headset. Have not had any problems with it yet. Those are pretty good and considering that unless you have one of the latest gen Razer Blades or a very high level Asus, MSI or dell you will not be getting PC level sound. I have a ROG III and a Razer Blade 15 inch and both have good sound boards built in. Don't expect a 300$ headset to sound good with a crappy Jack or LOWWWWW quality sound card (chromebook alert). Also you might want to consider going wireless and if you do Sennheiser and Corsair have some good headsets in the 200$ range. Anyway that's my thoughts on the matter.
  5. Hi, I got some drives donated to my non-profit and I need some illumination on some definitions! 1. SAS what is SAS (Or SASS Idk which)? Why does it need a seperat PCI controller? Can I use SATA drives hooked up to a SAS controller normally without it? 2. What is RAID? How do the raid Levels work? How do i use different RAIDs? I tried reading online tutorials and stuf but the were not helpful. A simple explanation would be much appreciated! Thanks, Andrew
  6. I have machines with both, honestly there is not a LOT of difference though the 3600x is a little better. As for the mobo and other parts it looks fine. The graphics card is where I have a problem. The 1060 is great, it really is but check out craigslist first. I got a 2080 (fully functional) for the same price as a new 1030. Ya try it first.
  7. Ryzen is a lot better for streaming in my opinion and you can get a very good core for a lot less. For instance the RYZEN 7 2700x is on sale for 164$ in the US right now. It outperforms the I7 9th gen from my experiance as well
  8. Honestly it doesn't matter a ton. Both are very good but if you intend to play mostly GPU games go with I7. CPU intensive games will run just find on either. Really unless you want prestige of having an I9 go with the I7. Also consider trying Ryzen instead.
  9. Follow the latest updates In my active posts, some pretty interesting stuff has happened!
  10. Thanks a ton guys! You would be shocked by how many of those ideas worked well especially the craigslist one, It's incredible how many people wanted to donate once I talked to them.
  11. We have a number of ways however because of our districts online HW policy it's a easy time in.
  12. Hi folks, So I run a nonprofit which refurbishes old computers and gives them to kids in poverty who are failing academically because of their lack of access to a computer at home. I need some ideas on where I can get some cheapish stuff for these computers. Our local electrics recycler is great but has pretty much nothing that you need when you need it. The scrapyard turns everything they find over to the recycler and ebay of course is overpriced. Ideas?
