It's been done, but final looks depend on your skill. Gluing it together might be easier, but it will probably look better when using more advanced technique.
Wood can crack and change shape as it dries, so make sure wood you use is completely dry already.
Other than that it's even safer than having metal case, because dry wood doesn't conduct electricity, even if some exposed parts touch the case it shouldn't short anything out...
Probably the one to look at:
    Too advanced:

You should check RAM sticks and if power cables are plugged in properly. 24-pin mainly.

That is not the noise level I was getting, all other sounds in video are louder compared to it.
If it turns back on I don't see much of a problem, just close the case and put computer further away from your ears.

How long did you wait? AM5 needs memory training on first post so that can take some time. In some cases even 10 or more minutes.

Op which 3050 do you have the smal form factor or micro? Seems nobody cept @8tg did research.

Id micro then no gpu possible.

If smal form factor NONE of the gpu's recommended can work. You need a LOW PROFILE card with NO pcie power connector.

A 1650 low profile is the best you can get IF you have the sff.

The rx6400 NEEDS pcie 4.0 to work well and has NO media engine meaning all video encoding and decoding is cpu only which means that that cpu is going to have to do A LOT of work which is not grwat for an older i5 and new codec

Y’all are missing a key point, low profile in an optiplex.
OP has a slot power only requirement and needs a half height card.

This limits them to at best the RX 6400, you can get used ones sometimes for around that price but not consistently.
Alternatively some low profile GTX 1050’s are out there, commonly in that price bracket.
I would suggest the Radeon pro WX 3200. It’s kinda like a workstation RX 560. Not amazing performance wise but it’ll get the job done for cheap.

With number 1, you're just rotating your head or potentially just moving your eyes. Whereas with number 2, you'll be stretching your neck up and down as you move between displays.

I've tried the number 2 setup before and I honestly only found it useful for stuff I'll periodically look and monitor. Glancing over to my left/right was far easier and less tiring throughout the day than tilting my head back to fully see the upper display. So I never treated it as an active display when I was using such a setup.

Clearly not reasonable sending whole case over.

Don't need one, Ryzens can run on teeny heatsinks. I've had up to a 3700X on the tiny stock Wraith stealth cooler from a 2200G without issue. Especially as you can power limit the chip in the BIOS if you are worried about power draw or temps, they come stock with an ECO mode and depending on OEM the motherboard may have its own presets as well.
As Jaslion has said, HDDs are less reliable. Sounds like you just had a bad SSD, which isn't inherent to SSDs alone, every mass produced device will have a dud every now and then (I've had one SSD die, and then like 6+ others that I've ran for years with 0 issues whatsoever, plus even more than that at work which have also all had 0 issues). If you're worried about drive failure then run 2 SSDs in a mirror array, and keep backups of your important files on an external drive (or if you're super worried, then keep a backup offsite too).

Anyways at this point maybe look at a used office machine and add some ram and storage or something? Plenty cheap stuff nowadays that is GOOD.

    Or build something or whatever.

Either way prebuilts for your need where you need good single core are a bit niche and either expensive or crap. So I'd just diy it or find a used system.

I mean you could just get like a ryzen based mini pc and send it?

Like a asrock deskmini with a 5600g or so and 32gb of ram.

    Or whatever.

Just skip the usb c monitor you only need 1 cable to the monitor anyway then just use a wireless keyboard and mouse. No need to make things a lot more expensive when they don't need to be.

Just get a decent drive. A samsung evo 970 is rated for like 600TBW (terrabytes written) before it starts to degrade for the 1tb version. A hdd will usually die sooner.

RageTester reacted to johnt in At the end of 2022, is Windows 11 worth upgrading to, a year+ after it's release? (asking for both Intel & AMD systems)
meh. It does require a log in now, but it didn't previously, which is bogus. However you can log in, activate, set up a local account, remove your account that was signed in. It's a huge work around for a problem that doesn't need to exist.

I'm also highly disturbed at the amount of advertising you are forced through for a product you had to pay for (for newer computers anyway). It's bogus.

Is it better than 10? No it's literally the same.
