  1. Even restarting the router doesn't help sometimes. Worst part about swapping, they often give you the same model, you can't tell if it has been used by someone else and you can expect it to fail too... Routers have an event log, my problem seems to be UDP port scan attack, but author should check theirs...
  2. Not taking anything apart, my old stuff still works just fine
  3. Close apps you don't use, they can eat a lot from background... Is screen refreshing 120Hz all the time, there should be way to reduce that? If you end up returning the phone, you can get something with snapdragon online... For example: https://www.cect-shop.com
  4. Just boot into safe mode if it's only software to blame, everything should be ok
  5. Eh it's way too many beeps to be an error code, I am out of ideas. You might have more luck opening a new thread, nobody else seems to have noticed this one
  6. Drives share the resources so one might perform bad if all are active, but I don't think it's that... I noticed that you are running RAM in single channel mode and just @1600 MHz. Maybe it's RAM that can't keep up... No idea about the morse code, perhaps there is something shaking inside the case or fans rubbing on something.
  7. CPU throttling can cause lag 4 sure, 90 degrees is on the hot side... Why are you using 3 SSDs? If cache is saved on HDD it could be taking time to spin up. I see you have plenty of free RAM, so maybe set up a RAM disk and change temp folder location onto it. I suggest https://sourceforge.net/projects/imdisk-toolkit/
  8. Well 1st thing to check is advanced power options. You can always just physically turn the display off, screen savers don't save electricity... Have you tried a tool like DisplayPowerOff? DisplayPowerOff-4.1.zip
  9. HDD is fine, .dll file missing isn't a huge deal, you can just download and manually copy it into the right folder. I suggest checking what is trying to run at startup, because there shouldn't be any video by default... You can do so from the Task Manager--> Startup or win + R msconfig Windows explorer ain't great you can replace it with http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/ for example...
  10. My guess: the 5 year old PSU can't provide enough power for the new parts... Maybe the problem is with GPU being pre-overclocked, I don't know much about that... how much more power does that use. "4096MB Asus GeForce GTX 970 STRIX OC Edition"
  11. The boot is failing, but you can't see nothing, hmm... Have you tried connecting the display straight to motherboard?
  12. It's not impossible. You can test the same image on virtual machine... I already have a warning for recommending pirated things, but you can find .iso image online easily. WIN 10 is a nasty OS to deal with, maybe linux will work for you better? That would indeed work straight from USB just fine.
  13. Any chance grandpa kicked the router too? I can't tell how PC was connected to it, but pulling 1 end of LAN cable can lead to a chain reaction... No problems with internet connection from the smartphone?
  14. 50% CPU usage doesn't sound very idle to me. We cant tell if it's some anti-virus scan or update in the background, because you haven't shared enough...
  15. If the game ain't too heavy you can automatically copy it over to a RAM disk at each boot. Maybe something is overheating...
  16. Imagine USB device is not recognized error and multiply that tenfold... Yeah it can run, but why even buy top end SSD if you not gonna use it to full potential?
  17. Forgot to kill explorer.exe so got that nasty white line at the bottom. Haven't found a perfect replacement for windows shell yet...
  18. They hit your CPU in different ways too, it's all down to optimization. People manage to play some games on Raspberry Pi using under 10 watts... Modern games will chew up any hardware you throw at them.
  19. Not even astronomers study on university. Online is the place, you can find free courses or country subsidized ones that even pay you to take part. In general if study program doesn't include some type of real life practical tasks (offers you a chance to gain work experience), it's not worth paying for... Then there are obvious problems of finding a place to live and possible trouble finding food you are used to.
  20. You can uninstall the driver and see what gets installed after reboot. Or use system restore point... Or try to F8 during boot and pick last known good configuration.
  21. I assume mouse and flash drives disconnect too, driver update didn't fix so those USB ports might have reached the end of their life. Most of these parts have just 2 year warranty. Find USB port that is the most reliable and plug a self powered USB hub into it. You could also buy new internal hub and replace the one in front panel.
  22. Is it 1 long beep or does it beep more times if you keep it plugged in? Have you tried removing the battery and holding power button for a while to drain all of the residual power left in the laptop? Then connect power adapter without a battery inserted and see it it also beeps...
  23. I assume you don't have a backup power adapter to test with. When mine was toast there was no sound... https://www.instructables.com/Laptop-Charger-Making-a-Beep-Sound-Fixed/
  24. How fast are you moving your mouse? Maybe website doesn't get a chance to react... So you are sure it works for others, mind sharing the website?
  25. Fact that you have 2 routers already could be causing interference... I would understand such long cable if it was another room. Is moving the router closer to PC an option? I would buy network switch if plan is to have multiple wired devices far away from router. Have you tried a wireless adapter?
