Hi guys,
Due to limited USB ports on my laptop, I am thinking of using a microSD card as a "permanent" data drive. It's uses will be:
Store data (non-OS stuff), for portability to move a PC.
A scratchpad to reduce writes to the primary NVME.
The question is, this is a normal use case? Reading online, I see that microSDs are only usually used for cameras and phones. Rarely as it used as an external drive. Is it because of some other factor that I am not aware of, such as perhaps high current consumption (which drains the laptop plus heats it up?) and write-cycles are too low such that this use-case will easily kill the card?
