Befitting of the last update, here is another "small" one.  Admittedly this took a lot longer than I was expecting as I had to remake the panel after I messed up the first one with some dodgy measuring.  Needless to say this was quite a bit of needle file work.

    GPU bracket included

Looks ugly at this point but is functional

Stripped a few engine parts as well. We ordered the paint stripper for the cases. Apparently the C70 has some REALLY thick paint.

We got the radiator sanded yesterday, we are going for a worn, working condition on it. It is an Alphacool Nexxos Monsta 240MM radiator.

    UPDATE!
No doubt some of you were thinking "What does that pump block do that a normal one doesn't?", the answer to that is, well, nothing.  By itself it doesn't operate any differently to the ones I was supplied by Thermaltake.  It was, however, a test bed for this thing instead:

I thought about that as well. My friend wanted to make it more like the "engine" of a mad max car rather than a mod reflecting the actual car. So features would include stuff like sparkplug wires running along the panels. We're still trying to decide on a blower for the top or an engine head.

As for the CPU cooler it will be water cooled. What do you think about the idea of using these

as case lights. They look pretty retro. I was thinking of running them in the top and bottom of the window side. The window will be modded so you won't see that much inside but light leaking would be cool.

Hello there! I've fiddled around a bit more with the computer during this weekend and though that this would be a suitable time to post a little update regarding the waterblocks. All of the waterblocks have been mounted and test fitted on the motherboard for some glamour shots. I must say, I absolutely love the look of everything put together, and I think it will improve even more once the GPU blocks have gotten a few custom touches to fit in further.
The GPU blocks are currently untouched, but they are on the queue to get some custom touches in the modding department. Nothing huge but a few minimal changes to make it fit the look of the build.
Also, some good news! I spoke to BeQuiet! and we decided to send me one of their new PSU's from their Pure Power lineup, which I think will suit the build perfectly. So that will defintely be featured in the build log next week.
    Onwards to the pictures!

It's a mod, mods are not done to be high end pc for gaming/overlocking, mods are done to be beautiful to see and thats the reason why the water-cooling is so expensive, I'm sponsored by asrock and they decide to give me that motherboard (h170m), I will mount a low end CPU only because is a mod and will not use this pc for my self. The motherboard is mini ITX but in the end of the mod you will see that I will complete all parts and it will look amazing with less, fans, water-cooling

    Update

Today i started working on the Pedestal. I cut out the acrylic parts, rounded the edges and then bended the bigger acrylic part.
Next step is to cut off the rest and put all parts together, then it is almost ready to paint.

The 200mm radiator will cool the whole system later.

The edges were first cut with the scrollsaw and then sanded, now they're perfectly round.

First bend complete, turned out pretty good imo.

And the second one done. Looks good i think!

A view from the back. As you can see i have enough room to fit in the radiator and the fan.
Now i don't have to worry about space problems inside the case.

Hello there! It's finally time for a new update as the new graphic cards have arrived and are slotted into the motherboard, so I thought I'd post a new update including some of the watercooling supplies and the new GPU's inside the computer, unfortunately this update was slightly delayed as I first ordered 2 Gainward GTX 970 cards and quite quickly changed my mind and went for the EVGA 970's instead. As they had much better looking waterblocks.
But now the cards are here and the build can finally continue! The waterblocks for the GPUs and CPU will be purchased this weekend hopefully and you can surely expect some more modding throughout the coming updates.

    ~JETSTREAM~
A custom Powermac G5 case mod project.

Back with another custom build case mod project (help, I can't stop! ). Shortly after finishing Project Stalker v2.0 I picked up a cheap Powermac G5 PC for $80. This is potentially going to replace the S340 of my main gaming rig - depending on how well this turns out. Have tons of ideas for this and still haven't finalized the internal layout yet (that will be revealed later on). All I can say at this point is that it will be quite different than what most people do with these G5's when they do a standard PC hardware conversions in them. The emphasis will be on air flow, low temps and low noise - all air-cooled. One thing is for sure; this is the most ambitious case mod/build I've taken on yet and it's going to take a long time to complete. There may be weeks/months between updates (though I hope not...).

Jetstream (air currents in the atmosphere) is a working title for this project. Feeling pretty good about it, but other suggestions are welcome.

    Specs will be:

*i7-4790 (can get one brand new for $300 CAD - which right now is basically = to 40% off) - Yet to be purchased. (Currently running an i5-4570)
Cryorig H7 CPU cooler - Yet to be purchased.
    Asus Z97-E
    Kingston Hyper-X Black 2x4GB 1600
*Kingston Fury-X White 2x4GB 1600 - Yet to be puchased.
    Samsung 840 120GB SSD
*2x 500GB SSD's or 1x 1TB SSD - Yet to be purchased (going all SSD's for this build as HDD's are a pain to deal with, take up too much space and are slow  ).
Asus Strix GTX 980 OC 4GB
    EVGA 850GS fully modular PSU

Basically most of the parts listed are from my current main gaming rig, except for those parts not yet purchased (duh) lol. This will  serve as a bit of an upgrade for this system, more or less.

Thing is huge and weighs just shy of 40lbs as-is.

Can't wait to grab the Dremel cutter, roll up my sleeves and get dirty again!

First things first, have to gut this thing and get it all cleaned up - see what exactly I'll be working with.

    Hey guys,

Here are the final photos of the build! Sorry for getting these up so late, the build has been finished for a while now but I have been super busy with a new job, moving state and city I haven't had time to go on the forums much.

Would like to thank Parvum Systems, Primochill and Icemodz for their support on this build!

As I said from the start this was being built for a friend of mine and with budget constraints it has taken a while to acquire everything needed to finish it.

Anyways, hope you've enjoyed this build log and like how the build turned out!

Quite the interesting read. I'm doing my own NCase M1 build, kind of similar to yours. Although I'm trying to avoid those "mods" and hardware swap choices that "defeat you." I've already experienced a little bit of this alone with air cooling. It looks good though, very good! I saw that you've changed back over to air now, but, EKWB released a bracket to allow their CPU blocks on Narrow ILM.

I seem to be off to a good start. Before reading this I had already decided on a reference GPU, which has helped keep compatibility good. I've learned, preemptively, from some of the mistakes you've made. Just unluckily for me, I have no "sponsors!" If you're interested, check it out. I'm still interested where you take this build, and will be watching for sure.

    Update 03/07/2016:

I've found a metal service, Philson Inc. in Watertown Connecticut, who will be willing to strip the anodize finish on my motherboard's heat sinks, and re-finish them to silver. Next on the list will be to re-finish the memory slots to black, which may get tricky.

I'll also be doing some case window modifications, and here are some rough sketches of them.

These orange-highlight areas will be windows, if all planning goes according. I may ditch the CD/DVD drive then, and replace it with NZXT's Hue+ to illuminate the case at the windows. This, paired with new silver panels, and some LED fans on the side intake bracket should account for some "bling" factor to the build.

Lastly, I've decided that once the Corsair SX600 releases, I'll get sleeved cables, or make my own, for the unit. I'm considering red to constrast all the black and silver in the build, but, am not opposed to a doing something like black, gray, or white. I'm thinking with the colored LED's, going all neutral, including the cable color scheme, might be a good route.

Ok BIG update. Project Stalker v2.0 is almost complete. It's on the home stretch! The weather was really nice and warm today - about 12-13*C - and I finally had some time to tackle this again.

Finished up fabricating the removable side panel and put the final coat of flat black paint on the chassis. Looks like it was built this way from factory! (almost ).

Anyways here's a fair sized photo dump with some brief descriptions. Enjoy.

Fresh cost of Krylon Fusion flat black paint. Covers nice and didn't run like most automotive based paints do.

Pulled the cooler off the GTX 460. Found something very interesting... The GPU has an IHS on it like a CPU. Never seen this before on a GPU.

And this is why I removed the GPU cooler...  Some of you might curse me for painting over that nice blue, but it didn't really fit with the theme and colours, so there!

Here's how the SSD was mounted to the chassis; dollar-store sticky Velcro strips.

And so the final cable management began... Spent quite a bit of time on the cables. Not a lot of room in this thing and I tried to hide them as much as possible. Glad this PSU is a semi-modular unit. Only extra cable needed was one for Sata power. Really good PSU, by the way. Highly recommend it.

Stuck some 1/2" rubber feet on the bottom to give it a little "stance" (it leans forward slightly).  Front panel fits nicely and the old multi card reader is just a dummy to keep the retro pre-built look.

Sitting up next to it's big brother. The S340 is not a very big case, but looks massive beside the Stalker, lol.

Big shout out to my very artistic Mother-in-law for taking the time to create a stencil of the "Stalker" logo to put on the side. She did an awesome job with it, can't wait to see how that turns out!  I'll have to wait for warmer weather to apply it, but it's ready to go (also have to figure out where to put it).

One other thing to show you guys in this update; I bought one of these Dremel "EZ-Lock" quick-change collars for swapping out cutting discs. the cutting discs that come with this kit are FAR better than what I was using, they last waaaay longer. Awesome product. If you're into case modding and fabricating and use a Dremel tool, this is a must have.

Anyways, that's it for now. Once the paint dries on the GPU cover and I get that put back on, will be able to load the OS on the SSD. Will be running Ubuntu 15.10 Gnome again for now but might switch to windows 10 just for the better gaming support. Saw on Paul's Hardware YT channel that he gets his Windows keys for about $20 US through kinguin.net, so I might try that route.

    More updates to follow soon...
