  1. Unfortunately, this MB doesnt have a CPU_OPT (or CPU_FAN2) connector of any sort. Only one CPU_FAN and 3 chassis fan plus AIO of course. I have the ability to base the speed of the CHA fans on CPU Temp. Not sure if it would be as accurate as the one the CPU_FAN would use tho?
  2. If I was to plug them separately; Say the big one in CPU_FAN and the A12x25 in CHA_FAN2. Do I absolutely have to have them run the same RPM? If not, what's the best scenario?: 1) Small faster // Big slower 2) Small slower // Big Faster

I replaced the front fan of my NH-D15 with a NH-A12x25 FLX (obviously, to clear the RAM) and connected both the original fan and this one on the CPU_FAN using the y-connector but I get a CPU Fan Error. I've tried lowering the threshold to 200rpm, same error. I also tried the various DC-MODE/PWM/Auto settings in my X570-P's BIOS but I always get the same error. Both fans are turning but I can't get the RPM so that's annoying. Should I have used something else than a A12x25 ? Should I plug them individually instead of using the y-connector? Any help would be appreciated!

  5. Ho I think I get what you mean now, You suggest to do the mixing with software using Voicemeeter Banana, keep the wireless as is and have the UMC202HD handle the XLR mic and wired headphones?
  6. How do you then suggest I connect my Wireless Headset to the UMC202HD and NOT lose 7.1 connection?
  7. Thanks for your reply. Just a few clarification. The optical connection are solely to connect my Wireless Headset's receiver. It would not connect to the PC. Also by "selecting which audio device is in use" I meant, in layman's term, simply playing with each device's "gain" effectively muting one and/or the other.
  8. I don't understand how my original thought (Behringer FCA610) wouldn't work? Isn't it just (tehnically) two mic input (one optical, one xlr), a connection via USB to a PC, and two outputs (one optical, and one stereo)? I thought I would be able to do my "mixing" (and by that I mean determining which device has input and output) using the Behringer and Windows would communicate with the interface using USB. Are the Optical Connections creating a problem I'm not aware of?
  9. I don't see how a switch would work as I would like both setup (wired and wireless) to be able to work at the same time. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Wireless headset can output (from receiver) using USB, Optical Out or Stereo. but the XLR Mic wouldn't work with a switch unless I use a USB mic (which I would like to avoid) Also I would need to have both headphones work together. That actually seems like MORE of an hassle than a solution. Re-thinking of it it "could" work with lots of elbow grease assuming a USB switch would actually work with Microphones. But I'm looking for more of a straight forward, easy-to-configure setup. Even if I have to bump up the budget.
  10. I've been using my computer pretty much only for gaming for the past few years but I want to morph it into a gaming/working PC, specifically sound-wise. By that I mean I've been using my SteelSeries Seberia 800 for gaming but the microphone being a "gaming headset" microphone, it's pretty sub-par for conferencing and voice calls (Skype, Teams, etc). I've been looking into XLR mics and interfaces but I'm pretty new to this. I need your guidance to accomplish the following: I would like to keep my current Wireless Headset sine it provides Wireless connectivity (I like to be able to move around sometimes) but I'd like to have a parallel QUALITY alternative (XLR mic + wired headphones) for calls. Here's the kicker: I would like to be able to switch seamlessly from one to another. Example: I'm in a Teams call, using the wired setup but I feel like getting up so I would love to start my wireless headset and mute my XLR mic effortlessly to smoothly switch from one to another. The reverse is also true, if I'm using my wireless headset to game and battery dies, I'd like to switch over (keyword: effortlessly) to the wired setup. Here's what I figured out so far: I need to plug both my XLR mic/wired headset AND my wireless headsets into an audio interface, and this one would be the only default communication device seen by Windows (via USB). Then I would basically mute the mics with their respective physical buttons and/or on the interface itself. This means I could also use both at the same time during a call. Assuming this is what I need, I would love to keep the SteelSeries Seberia 800 7.1 functionality (for gaming) so I assume I would need to connect its receiver using both Optical-In and Out? If so I would need an audio interface that would allow: optical in and out + XLR-in / stereo out I looked around with my limited knowledge and found the Behringer FCA610 which seems to have what I need but also seems a bit overkill. Is there a way to achieve what I want differently? I'm I on the right track? I'm I even on the right forum? Only physical parts I have so far is my gaming headset and temporary Audio Technica wired headphones. I would love to stay below CAD 500$ total for mic, interface cables and mic stand/accessories. I plan to shell out additional money later for better headphones. BTW I know I could use only one pair of headphone (the wireless ones) but the reason I would like to have both is because I plan on using a shallow looking headphone for calls since my wireless headset is very bulky and doesn't look good during professional video calls.
  11. This is my "plan-B" if I cannot find a suitable, clean, rackmount setup. Yes cooling is kinda of my main concern, I'm wondering if loosing the Case's embedded 200m front fan will destroy my hardware.. Also wondering if running a 2U setup without the top would hinder airflow too much?
  12. Yes I mean moving the internals (MB+CPU+GPU, SSD, HDD, etc..) into a rackmount chassis Then installing that chassis into a 24U rack
  13. Setup Case: Thermaltake Core V1 MB: ROG Strix H370-I GAMING CPU: 8700k running at 4.3GHZ CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9S GPU: EVGA 1080ti SC Black ed. Gaming Storage: 1 x m.2 on board, 1 x SSD, 1 x 3.5 The primary purpose of this machine is Gaming. I'm thinking about consolidating all my Hardware (network, QNAP, UPS, this box) into a 24U server rack and was wondering if I could move the content of that box in a rackmount chassis (2, 3, 4U ?) I don't mind using a riser for the GPU but my main concern is, since I want to keep the hardware as-is, I need almost 6in of clearance to keep my Noctua cooler. Maybe I could use a 1U, 2U without a top? I guess that wouldn't be good for airflow tho.. Would you recommend / not recommend moving the content into a rackmount chassis? And if so, what chassis brand/model would you recommend? (I'm in Canada)
