Yep you read that right. Apple is working together with other tech giants to create a universal Standard.
QuoteGoogle, Amazon and Apple (plus others) have created Connected Home Over IP, a new working group managed by the Zigbee Alliance, which aims to develop a new, open smart home connectivity standard based on Internet Protocol (IP). For consumers, this will mean that stuff just works together, but it'll be a boon for developers, too, as a universal standard streamlines product development and reduces costs by giving them a blueprint for their products.
The other Zigbee Alliance board member companies include IKEA, Samsung SmartThings and Signify (the new name for Philips Lighting). They're all on board to help develop the "royalty-free connectivity standard."
Personally I like this new direction Apple is going of give customer what they are asking for. First with iPad, then MacBook Pro 16 and now this.

I however do think the reason they choose India is if it fails the implications will be far less than US

Exactly... India seems like a big earthquake zone as well though. I mean that fact that india is pushing into the plate asia sits on is the reason the Himalayas exist.
The plans they have got as of now is mostly the safe zones(mostly )

Yeah it was first thought off a century ago along with liquid rockets and others. There is a reason it was left on the drawing board.
100 yrs ago there wasn't enough technology to implement it.
Neural Networks and other machine learning algorithms were invented 20 yrs ago, only implemented until recent years because computers then weren't powerful enough to handle the load

Which Cooling pad

Which will provide better cooling(Given approx same quality).
Also Will dual 140mm make more noise or single 200mm??

Creating universal standard will promote smaller companies to make smart devices since it will reduce there development costs. Also more people will be willing buy these new devices since universal standard will ensure you buy any device from any vendor, plug n play and you ae good to go.
Money for them is the more data they will have access to like sleeping habbit and so on.
