That's crazy how powerful the Vegas are at folding, but not so much in gaming.

This saddens me. I normally run my rig in OSX (hackintosh) and only switch to Windows for gaming. I wonder if Linux supports it. In the OpenMM wiki it says it's supported in OSX through OpenCL. Is it just a matter of installing OpenMM or is it a fundamental issue with the Folding@home software? Ref http://docs.openmm.org/latest/userguide/application.html#installing-openmm P.S. Glad your alright. No need to apologize. Always put yourself first. If you don't take care of yourself, who will?

Oh snap. My bad. My brain made up some stuff. I don't know how I got 570 out of the R9-290, lol. My fault.

@chaozbandit PPD per day difference between 8700k and Vega64. I picked the best performers for each. Night and day, lol. Are you sure that your 570 is at parity with your CPU? CPU GPU

My 8700k at 5ghz (avx) puts out between 1:10 to 1:6 of what my Vega 64 puts out, so yeah CPU is a drop in the bucket for me.

Turning off advanced had me in the que for hours on hours. Even with the 3 wasted out of the last 17, it's still more progress than without it.

I do have it, but the way I was trying to keep it on there wasn't good. I kept it in the box for a couple months because I was trying to figure out how to do it cleanly. This project told me to just throw it on . I had to make custom metal brackets to hold it on as it is normally bolted to the heat sink. The VRM temperatures are greatly reduced with it and the fan running about 1800rpm (still quiet ).

I took a CPU AIO and drilled holes through the bracket and widened the holes on my Vega64. At 200w (gpu 1703Mhz / Memory 1100Mhz) consistent draw for the last 5-6 days max temp was 61 gpu / 55 memory. Not bad at all. Especially considering my house is a warm 79f / 26c and my computer is under an enclosed desk, lol. The CPU AIO is blowing hot air into the case though, so the GPU AIO is getting that warmer air as well

Welp, shutting down the CPU folding didn't change the fact that 14541 doesn't like AMD cards. Turning CPU folding back on, lol. So disheartening to see 93% then fail
