I jumped on the AMD train back when I heard about their sweet new affordable CPUS, and decided on a Ryzen 5 1600x. I also upgraded everything around my original i7 920 build, with new G-Skill Ram, Samsung 960 EVO nvme, and a Thermaltake 750watt PSU.
Unfortunately I still have the same video card due to affordability and the fact I feel that my GTX 770 is sufficient for the games I play. (WoT, WoW, MTGA, Overwatch, DBD, Minecraft)
My next move though is to upgrade to maybe a new Ryzen CPU, but is it even worth grabbing a new CPU? Would it just be a smarter move to get a 2060 GPU when I can afford it?
The gaming I do is pretty casual in my opinion, and I don't plan to overclock. The main reason I made the hardware upgrade was because I spend a lot of time making music and needed the extra cores to help keep Ableton from crashing the rig. I'm content with how the computer runs, but occasionally I look at my lame 770 and dream of a world of something more modern with ray tracing.
Any input is helpful!
