So turned pc on. No beep no startup. Clearly everything was getting power. Even the CPU led indicator was powered since it kept burning ^^ Going to sleep now (3am in Europe) Will try a different CPU tomorrow think I have an old one lying around somewhere and we'll see whether I botched my CPU or not.

Finally managed to get it loose. Put the hairdryer on it for like 20 min then put a flathead screwdriver to it and smashed it off. Quite aware that this is not a safe method but didn't really seem to have many options left. Have almost put everything back together now and will be hoping my system still works thanks for the suggestions

Indeed tried with floss and twisting and turning. Also didn't have the result I was hoping for.

Hi everyone, While cleaning my PC I tried to dislodge my heatsink from my cpu/mb however the processor came with it. It appears to be completely stuck to the heatsink. (Old model) Now I can't seem to get it off. Tried heat and alcohol but to no succes. Can also not clip it back in because the lock collides with the heatsink. (AM3+ socket) Does anyone know how to fix this?
