kla3 got a reaction from Stu_Bear in Which CPU is better for me
Get a 3xxx Series Ryzen, getting the 2xxx series doesnt make sense, the 3xxx series will last you much longer, and seriously outperform it.
Getting a 2700x for desktop use in 2020 doesnt make sense to me

kla3 got a reaction from Beloit911 in The Water Cooling Gallery
Ive used that for 2 years now, never had any issues!
Issues can come if you dont seal the lid back on, since the CPU gets hot and cold all the time it draws tiny bits of moisture in, and that makes the LM "Corrode" the copper, but other than that, no problem doing it like he is doing!
EDIT: Gallium, which is a "ingredient" in LM, is actually made of small amounts of copper, and the same mix is used alot on solarcells, so, its not the copper`s fault, its moisture!

Soft tube single loop kit from EKWB on a GTX 1080ti 2.090GHz stable, and an 8700k with a custom all copper IHS hand lapped and applied with liquid metal underneath and Kryonaut on top holding 5.2GHz stable. No AVX offset (Forget the voltage atm)What a fun build!
MOBO is an Asus ROG MAXIMUS X Hero
RAM is 4x8GB of Corsair vengeance LPX 3200 DDR4 running at 3600MHz (I don't know how to do RAM timings yet...)
PSU is a Corsair RM850x
Case is a Corsair Crystal 460x

It all depends on your usecase, are you just looking into it for the UI and how pretty it looks? if yes, then mostly all Linux Distros is customisable to your hearts content

you are smarter than, me, lol!

Take a pencil, grind its core into a very fine dust, mix it with a bit of olive oil until you get a paste like consistency. Smear it on CPU. That should do it for the time being. Oil as bonding medium, graphite as thermal conductor.
Other method could be placing a piece of aluminium foil between CPU and cooler. Just make sure it's pristine without any creases. It should fill in the tiny gaps with pressure. Haven't tested it yet, but in theory, it should work.

kla3 got a reaction from leo1798 in I told my brother that I'm going for a Ryzen 3600 and he told me this... Is it true?
in my book, thats 95$ more to spend on a GPU
If i were you, i would probably go with AMD

Here are some more pictures, including the delidding of my chip, I also applied Liquid Metal to both GPU`s, will be interesting to see how that holds up
Aircooler bracket shown on the CPU, was just for testing, since i didnt want to hook up the entire loop before testing the CPU

I suggest you stop talking to your brother about computers.

Thank you for the kind words!
Good question!; i`m currently pinning and sleeving my own cables, but it might take a while, hence the stock cables are in use now
Two reasons actually:
1; Everyone else builds in the 011 Dynamic, i wanted something different
2; i have 3 rads in there, i need a frontpanel that can hide some soft-tubing all the way in the bottom of the front panel, and that is also where my drainport is
