  1. Still, video editing wasnt mentioned at all in the original post, and for anything else, the 3600x wins hands down And i stand by my point, buying a 2xxx Ryzen chip in 2020 doesnt make sense (unless budget is insanely tight)
  2. you never said in your original post that you were doing video editing, and if i remember correctly that was only in Davinci ? But i still cant see why the 2700x should beat the 3600x in anything at all really
  3. How is your pagefile usage? please check this while the stutters happend, and report back with a screenshot please, spare us
  4. A friend told you that its "bottlenecking" your pc? if you are happy with the gaming performance you have now, there is no point upgrading
  5. Get a 3xxx Series Ryzen, getting the 2xxx series doesnt make sense, the 3xxx series will last you much longer, and seriously outperform it. Getting a 2700x for desktop use in 2020 doesnt make sense to me
  6. install intel XTU, go to Advanced Tuning Controls, Core voltage offset, and put it to -0.125 see if that helps you
  7. tbh that doesnt sound far of the truth if you are running full clockspeed all the time My 3700x easily matches that if i run it at 4.5ghz, even at idle
  8. I have the same CPU in my Razer Blade, and it does actually act the same on the desktop! And regarding the gaming performance, i strongly suggest you undervolt the CPU like -0.125 ish, that helped alot for me, since the system used less power and stayed cooler! Tho 40fps in team fortress doesnt seem right at all, do you have MSI afterburner installed to check the boosting on your GPU?
  9. Ive used that for 2 years now, never had any issues! Issues can come if you dont seal the lid back on, since the CPU gets hot and cold all the time it draws tiny bits of moisture in, and that makes the LM "Corrode" the copper, but other than that, no problem doing it like he is doing! EDIT: Gallium, which is a "ingredient" in LM, is actually made of small amounts of copper, and the same mix is used alot on solarcells, so, its not the copper`s fault, its moisture!
  10. 1: check if PSU starts without the 24pin connected to the motherboard 2: try cleaning all connection-points/plugs on the motherboard, might be something in there causing a "short"
  11. Dont use it without paste! And sure you can leave the components out, just unplug it, and keep them somewhere safe
  12. Thtat doesnt matter at all tbh, you build the system that you want to build, thats the most important part
  13. Yes you can, but i dont know if you can set a password to have before you select boot device/boot order, my advice would be to just encrypt all OSes separately

Nice rig, good job! Thank you for sharing
  15. It all depends on your usecase, are you just looking into it for the UI and how pretty it looks? if yes, then mostly all Linux Distros is customisable to your hearts content
  16. in my book, thats 95$ more to spend on a GPU If i were you, i would probably go with AMD
  17. Nice job, build looks superclean!
  18. Would suggest getting 36xx mhz ram when he is spending this kind of money tho
  19. Here are some more pictures, including the delidding of my chip, I also applied Liquid Metal to both GPU`s, will be interesting to see how that holds up Aircooler bracket shown on the CPU, was just for testing, since i didnt want to hook up the entire loop before testing the CPU
