I found that you have 175 mm of space so I have a list on pcpartpicker: the link
This is a list of all posible psu's

It's more than enough for a 750 ti.

    That doesn't exist
And the PSU could be proprietory with proprietary wiring, a 750ti will work just fine .

Got something in the mail today that I ordered off Ebay a few days ago. Some new floppies for the old machines... brand new in box, still in the factory shrink wrap! Just finished unboxing them and re-formatting them, working 3 different systems at once so I'm not up all night doing it haha.

Base seems good, but i would really spring for a 2x8GB kit if possible. Ryzen systems perform much better on dual channel kits.

I'd rather recommend against that, simply becuase upgrading to 4 sticks in the future might harm performance and ryzen 2nd gen isn't perfectly optimised for 4 DIMM operation.
@berberrieswas right, just try to squeez a little itty bit of money out of your budget and get a 2 x 8 kit for 16gig in dual channel

If you can only afford 8GB of RAM make sure it's a two stick kit.  Single channel RAM will reduce your CPU performance to noticeable levels.

Mardax007 reacted to ZzLy in What to choose? R5 2600 or R7 2700X

A ryzen 5 2600 will perform better in gaming because you can get a 1660 super instead of a 1650 super  Using a 2700X together with a 1650 super will just result in your gpu not being able to keep up.

Mardax007 reacted to rx590overclocker in cpu choice
the rx 590 is not better than the 1660ti, it is the same as the 1660 non ti.  I have been able to overclock mine to 1720mhz, and Temps never go above 60c.  I have the Gigabyte rx590.  It is a great card

I would definitely stick with the 1660 (regular, ti, or super).  It is a great value.  You might also go with a rx 590, but that is less powerful.

Ryzen is definitely the way to go. I think with your budget, I would get the Ryzen 5 3600X and maybe pair it with a GTX 1660 Super? That should be plenty to get you going. Anything less than that card and you're going to be hitting bottleneck issues.

It would be a fairly good one, but theres some quality and part/performance choice problems that I'd adjust it for:

Could also get a 1600 AF when they release for 85$- which would probably be a better choice.

You can't expect more fps with that kind of graphics horsepower. If you are tight on a budget and your concern is just Roblox and Minecraft being playable, I'd say a newer card is totally worth it.
Spending something like 50$ will make a huge difference. If you have a bigger budget thought, something like 250-300$, building a budget computer is a better idea than just upgrading graphics.

If I where you, I'd upgrade to a GT 1030 or GTX 1050. Both models have options that don't include the need for external power, so you won't need a power supply with 6 or 8 pin PCIe connectors. The i3-2120 isn't the best for gaming, but it'll work fine for Minecraft.
You can make good use of the parts you already have, but you can make a custom build for around $250 USD if you so desire.
