Specs:
Ryzen 3 2200g (stock)
MSI A320M-A Pro Max (2 RAM slots)
Avexir 2x4GB DDR4 2666mhz (AVD4UZ126661504G)
Kingston Fury 2x8GB DDR4 2666mhz (KF426C16BB/8) (listed in MSI's compatibility list)
My friend upgraded his RAM today with Kingston Fury 2x8GB DDR4 2666mhz. It doesn't display anything in the monitor, but all RGB lights in the system unit are working. We made sure that the RAM is compatible with the motherboard and CPU before buying it, we even matched the RAM speed even though the CPU can support up to 2933mhz. The motherboard's RAM slots are working properly.
He tried everything he can:
reseat RAM,
remove CMOS battery to reset BIOS settings,
insert one stick only,
mix 4GB and 8GB (PC won't boot when 8GB is inserted but works fine without it),
he watched a bunch of YouTube tutorials, followed it, but he said nothing worked,
except we haven't tried updating the BIOS yet because we might brick the motherboard if we do it (we are strangers to this).
Here are some screenshots where both 1x4GB and 2x4GB RAM works properly (XMP got reset), with BIOS version 2019 something:
2x4GB
1x4GB
Any solutions? Do we really need to update the BIOS? I need a clarification because we might have just missed a very simple solution to this.
