  1. Did you GPU Error 84 and then Update VGA BIOS error when installing Windows?
  2. I can't believe this. It looks like one channel or two channels on the MOBO memory is shot.
  3. While installing Windows, I keep getting these "Load VGA BIOS" error warnings. Weird
  4. Pulled apart the water loop and replaced the GPU riser cable and that seemed to do the trick. Although I think I have a few bad sticks of RAM as well
  5. Looks like I was getting an error. RAM code 5. so, took all the RAM out and tried with one stick. Now it goes past the RAM boot and gets stuck on the GPU error code 94, then to load VGA BIOS. So something is wrong. I am going to pull the GPU and see if I can't get this thing working.
  6. Hey All, I just completed my build and I booted for the first time, but my motherboard is stuck on memory test. How long should memory test take? MOBO is a Zenith Extreme for AMD Threadripper and 128gb of ram. Cheers
  7. Just pulled the trigger on two of these, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti-SEA HAWK EK-X
  8. I am confused , what has that got to do with a Threadripper 3970x or 3990x?
  9. You are comparing a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X which for one is 2nd gen not third and aligns with your benches. What did you expect? Cinebench is over 17,000 for the 3970x and for your OC'ed 3900x it is just above 7000. That is 2.3 times the performance, what am I missing here? Are you getting your CPU's confused?
  10. Looking good! Never had RGB, my last build was 8 years ago and at the time it was again bleeding edge technology, which is why I was able to use it at a high level for so long. I can't wait to get mine finished , but still waiting on some parts, I ran out of fittings. I bet you are looking forward to seeing how it performs?
  11. Hmm, Every bench test says otherwise, but what ever floats your boat.
  12. The only reason to water cool the ram is to get RGB on the waster blocks.
  13. Well, I will be getting that when it comes out. But, I am thinking of water cooling some ram and using ECC ram. What do you think?
  14. Honestly, I am not a raid expert and I don't know how all this works with VM's etc. Basically, I want to clone my OS drive so if something happens I will have a backup I can use until I get a new SSD and recreate the cloned drive for future safety
  15. Love the black and whit theme. I was thinking of going with white pastel liquid. In any case, I have now fully drtained the loop a total of 7 times and it is not yet finished and stilll has no OS installed.
  16. What is that case? It looks really big from the pics? Are you doing hard tubing?
  17. Nice!! This was my first time cooling the GPU so I went with pre-assembled. I wanted this card, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SEA HAWK EK X. But , I could not get it as everyone was out of stock and did not know when they would have one, so I had no choice but go with FTW3 Hydro copper. I also do not like the branding. I own a mid-size business with just over 1000 employees. But, as the poster above stated, with lots of time, hard work and a lot of luck.
  18. That is almost identical to mine. I am using the Velocity RGB block and 128gb of G-Skill (Could not find 32gb sticks, only 16gb) Also, I went with 2 EVGA ultra copper hydro RTX 2080 ti ultra cards. What are those? Here is an unfinished pic, still waiting on the second GPU to arrive. Also this was with the MOBO I wrecked before I decided to go all out with the ThreadRipper. Also added another distro plate which is not in this pic
  19. That is good to know. Looks like I will stick with this CPU until things change. Thanks everyone for the advice.
  20. Yeah, I do. Which is why I am thinking I should go with the new CPU.
  21. Seriously though, I don't really do much that would warrant this kind of power, but I just can't forgive myself for leaving something on the table. I am gravitating towards the 3990x , "just because" reasoning. And yes, it just my home PC
  22. Hey all, Sort of wanted to discuss a first world problem with my latest issue. I went ahead with buying the Ryzen Threadripper 3790x b/c I saw the base clock being much better than the Ryzen Threadripper 3990x . But then I see all these videos that the overclock is really not much different and the fact that the video that Linus did sort of turned me off the 2990x. But I started second guessing myself, should I have gone with the later or not? Anyway, sort of interested what people here think about this? Cheers
