  1. Well my girlfriend bought me an R9 5900x for my birthday so of course I needed MSI's Coreliquid k360 with the LCD screen to keep it cool. Or so I told her lol. And I needed a 6700xt red Devil from Power Color. I just slap it together and I get an email from EVGA. The 3060 you were waiting for is available. Buy now for $399. So of course I got it. My son would rather have the EVGA Rtx 3060 black 12gb than a gigabyte Rx 5700xt OC. It's his choice so whatever. Although in a Lian Li case with their vertical mount and riser I get driver issues and need to buy another $70 gen 4 riser. I'd just switch the lane to 3.0 but if he resets the bios I'll end up being tech support for a screaming 14 year old. Happy New year everyone. I'm starting mine off with a new herniated disc. Anyone on Long Island looking for an experienced system builder? Lol I'm an electrician but I should start thinking about doing something with a chair involved. Lol

  2. Did you fix it? I have that card and the same problem.
  3. That was extremely helpful Den-Fi. I saw exactly where I stand in comparison to people with the same cpu and gpu. I did good but there's room for improvement.
  4. Ah! The search tool I should have seen. That help a lot! Thank you!
  5. I just want to get a better reference. Regular Time Spy v1.0 I think. Default settings.
  6. I like many others have buyers remorse after purchasing MSIs Tomahawk B450 and now I wish I would have gotten an X570 chipset board where I could have installed both of my nvme drives directly on the board. Is it really worth spending the money to swap them out? Ryzen 7 2700, MSI Radeon Rx 5700 Mech OC

I finally got a new case and upgraded my cooling from Ryzens stock cooler. Great air flow so now I can actually OC this Ryzen 7.
  8. Well unfortunately I have to mail the computer that's why not wanted a smaller case. He's 12 but other kids in the house are known to break tech. I might just stick to sending him my laptop. Idk. If I could sell off some old crap I could build him a Ryzen 5 rig. Idk
  9. I'd start shopping. Even if it isn't the PSU it doesn't hurt to have a spare. I have been into this about 5 months now and I have 2 PSUs, 3 GPUs and a couple motherboards with CPUs and spare RAM. I've gone a bit overboard though. Lol
  10. Ok here's the thing. I have 2 computers. 1 being my Ryzen rig and daily driver. #2 is an older FX 8320 with a Rx 580. My son wants the FX rig but the case is a Deepcool tesseract and it's just bulky and ugly. My case is a diypc but I've done a lot of work on it. So... Do I buy myself a new case and put the FX in mine or just buy a cheap case for the FX?? I'm banging my head on this one. Lol here's both rigs. I will in fact go with the majority opinion. Thanks in advance. Happy Friday!
  11. Ah! Thank you! So I'm not crazy! Lol it's worth trying.
  12. Just wondering if anyone has tried using m3 standoffs behind their ssd that mount next to the motherboard so you have room to hide cables behind them. Just popped into my head and I figured it couldn't hurt to ask if anyone has tried it. Thanks again everyone and happy Friday!
  13. I would use one of the PSU calculators to see what kind of power your system requires.
  14. Thanks I checked it out. I'm not familiar with that brand but it should have come with a 6+2 pci-e cable.
