  1. Hi guys! This isn't a question, more of a statement for those who might be dealing with coil whine. I hope people would appreciate it if I told the story of how I fixed the coil whine in my graphics card. TL:DR: I plugged a second PCIe cable into the graphics card from the PSU, as opposed to using the daisy-chained extension from just one cable to fit all the sockets on the card. I had been using a bronze rated 550W corsair PSU with my Gigabyte 5700XT for some time. There was some very audible coil whine and I had a hunch that the PSU was the cause, considering the fact that it was such low quality and wattage, so I recently bought the Corsair RM850I. I was convinced that this would fix my coil whine and be much more energy efficient. After plugging in the PCIe cable with an 8+6 daisy chained connection, there was no audible difference. I was quite frustrated and annoyed, but I gave up for a few days, but the coil whine drove me mad. So I took it all apart and added in a second PCIe cable. Now it's silky smooth and completely quiet, with the most noise being created by the stock cooler that came with my Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. Basically, if you have the patience to take your PC apart, try adding an additional cable to your card (assuming that it actually has space for it)
