My 4070 Ti destroys my 3070 Ti in every possible way lol. It’s a good card.

    On 1440p the 5600 is fine for a 3070Ti. It wouldn't be on 1080p and it's not for a 4070Ti.ž
But the 5800X3D would do great with a 4070Ti on 1440p.

So a cpu upgrade will give you exactly 0% extra performance then

Which means you're not CPU bound. A faster CPU will, at best, improve minimum fps or 1% lows. A faster CPU is needed if your GPU utilization is well below 90%.

    Full system specs please.

Because a 5800x or 5800x3d run hot/dont transfer heat as well you need good cooling. So cooler and case are important to know.

Board is important to know as well simply put the lowest end stuff cant run a 8 core at full force.

What games are you upgrading for? A 5600 is still plenty fast.

    The rest of the specs?

The 5600, 5600X, 5700X, and 5800X have about the same performance in games. The additional cores help IF you're heavily multitasking. Or for productivity.
The 5900X and 5950X sometimes have better game performance than those because of having more L3 cache, but not a huge performance gain.
The 5800X3D, on the other hand, is a gaming beast on the AM4 platform, BUT it's only needed if you're rocking a mid-range or high-end GPU on 1080p or a high-end GPU on 1440p.

You can buy used 5800x3d for around 200-250$ and used 5800x for around 150$

Seems like a pretty minor upgrade till we start looking at x3d, you can get a tad extra performance with a decent ram oc so id reccomend that or a used 5800x3d

Unless the games you play are currently CPU bound and benefit from either more cores or the increased cache of the X3D, you won't notice any performance increase.

Im just wondering if its enough to put only one 8 pin on cpu power with ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WiFi and AMD Ryzen 7 7700X or i need put power in other 4pin cpu power pls help before I buy thx i have 750w psu but lost cables in moving to new apartment and now I cant find psu power cable po cpu pin thanks for Any answer

That is enough.  1x8pin CPU power connector is rated for 225w of continous power and 336w in short bursts.  I run my 7700x with only 1x8pin CPU power connector just fine 🙂 Way overkill for this CPU. 7700x has a default TDP of 105w so under half of what the 8pin is rated for. No problem 🙂
The extra 4 pin is there for extreme overclocking, looking good, feature set to put on the motherboard box and slight gimmick.

Just because you drive 4k doesn't mean it has to be a high end output, unless you back it up with high end spending. As a specific example, I bought a 3070 last gen replacing a 2080 Ti to use with a 4k TV. I wanted a 3080, but it didn't happen. For those games that supported upscaling, it was fine and looked great. Some older games that didn't support upscaling struggled. It is quite an experience difference even with lower settings on a large TV compared to high settings on a much smaller monitor.

I  daily drive a 4070. It's closer to a 3080 level. For general gaming 12GB VRAM is not a problem. The odd title might push it if you select excessive settings, and in that rare case dropping slightly doesn't break the game. I have not encountered this situation in practice.

It'll work, and it comes down to user expectations and tolerance. I think it is a cosmetic upgrade on a much older design. You have a single smaller fan at high rpm if you want any airflow through it. Something like an Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo is pretty cheap and much cooler and quieter.

Now the 4070 dont look that stupid of a card for 4k

i rarely ever see these anymore and when i do they tend to be abit overpriced, but 25$ ish gets you an assassin king / burst assassin which should be quite abit better

That’s a huge price jump. 7900xt/4070ti would be better for 4k for the price, the 4080 is 1100$

Used 3090 also exist and the gpu is on par with the 4070ti except it isnt vramless

7900xt also seems like a good choice but i wonder if its worth it over a new 6900/6950xt aside from just the extra vram? Used 6900xt will obviously be better price/performance depending on the discount you can get with buying used

Either or, your GPU is going to be your bottleneck LONG BEFORE the CPU is going to be bottlenecked. Just having as much core as a game scales when you built it (so currently 6 Cores 12 Threads) is good enough.

How about the middleground, the 7700 non X?  I got a 7700x with my 4080 and its absolutely fantastic!  No issues, super fast and gives my 4080 the power it needs 🙂

If you never intend to upgrade the CPU, it would be fine, but the VRM sucks. It can't handle a stock 170W TDP part - so no Ryzen 9 7900X or 7950X - which will also apply to any future Ryzen parts with a 170W or greater TDP, greatly limiting your upgrade path.

That testing Hardware Unboxed did is at stock - no PBO applied or anything - and the board's VRM goes over 100C.

If pricing in your area is such that the Prime B650-Plus is the only reasonably priced option, it's not a completely garbage board, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have options with better VRMs, as getting a board with a good VRM today could let you upgrade to a top-of-the-line part in 4-5 years.

In that case, get a B650 board and the Ryzen 5 7600X. It performs about the same as the 5800X3D, but comes with a solid future of upgrade possibilities. Just make sure you don't skimp on the motherboard's VRM.

Luckily, most B650 boards are pretty good, so just avoid the Asus Prime B650M-A, the Asus Prime B650-Plus, and the Gigabyte B650M K, and you should do fine. Even the cheap Asrock B650M-HDV/M.2 has a good enough VRM to handle the 7950X, so with a decent board that cheap, there's no reason to go with an A620 board.

Here's Hardware Unboxed's recent buying guide for B650 boards:

Don't skimp on the motherboard as that will very much limit your ability to replace the 7600x with a higher core count variant cpu or even next gen cpu. Honestly motherboards are very important and you should get a decent quality one.

I'd go 7600x for the future upgradability. But if your just gonna game then get the 7600 non x which costs the same and performs the same while being much easier to cool and draws less power
