peterpepo got a reaction from Titania_WD in 5400rpm SSHD vs 7200rpm HDD
    Hey all,
thanks for replies. I coudln't decide which one. But then I succeeded to agree with person for who this computer is, that ssd will be fine.
I bought 250 GB Samsung Evo 840 as primary hard drive. Then I bought a 1 TB External Hdd from WD.
It's bit over the budget, and summed cost equals to 500GB Samsung Evo, but I think, this way, we will get best of both worlds.

Fast and snappy operating systems and loading of frequently used data, and high capacity, reliable storage for data not so frequently used + regular backups.

Posts like this are probably better suited to the Troubleshooting sub. I don't think most people around these parts bother with audya drivers. Srry.

    Why not get a 4790k it's only 10 dollars more than a 4770k.

The RivaTuner overlay that is included with Precision X does not support 64-bit games, yet. The guy who makes RivaTuner got paid off by MSI to only update the same overlay that comes with MSI Afterburner. Both programs are 100% identical in how they work, but one has a MSI logo on it and one has an EVGA logo on it. Specifically you will need to use the most current beta version of MSI Afterburner to get an overlay in 64-bit games. The overlay has some additional features as well like monitoring your CPU in addition to your GPU.
Per the maker of RivaTuner, he is refusing to extend the same updates to the EVGA Precision version until this coming December. He has also released a standalone version that is not tied to MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision, but it lacks 64-bit support as well.

The fans on your cooler probably aren't spinning very fast at 20% load which is fine as they auto-adjust themselves.

Just so you're aware five minutes of time stress-testing isn't enough time as the heatsink needs to actually heat up. Usually heating the heatsink/radiators up only takes around fifteen minutes (assuming the person doesn't have an obscene value of radiator).

Edit: Those temps in the post above are fine. You should stresstest with a better utility, I use Intel burn test V2.

you should be able to install Windows in UEFI mode through the CD, just disable CSM in your UEFI if enabled

GPT and MBR are partition table types.
BIOS and UEFI are firmware types.

Yes you can use a MBR Partition table on a disk that is not a boot drive. Linux supports GPT, just use gdisk, gparted or parted (parted and gdisk are console based) (You must mean GPT not UEFI), I recommend GPT for a disk for storage, there is no point for using MBR (The only reason to use MBR is if its a boot disk for a BIOS system), because MBR disk (all disks, not just boot disks) can not be higher than 2.2TB and can only have a max of 4 primary partitions.

Yes you will have to write a new GPT partition table, if its a new disk you are going to have to write a new partition table anyway. WARNING if this disk is already in use and you are just converting from MBR to GPT, you will lose all data on the disk

    Disk Management Way (Recommended)

open disk management right click on the disk and click convert to GPT diskpart way

open cmd type diskpart type select disk (disk number here) type convert gpt If when you try to use the command convert gpt and it spits out an error saying something like Access Denied or you do not have the permissions to do this, Open CMD as admin

No idea, just giving advise. You should check your local forum about their warranty service. In my country, Asus warranty is the worst so i try to avoid their card even if it come with 2 years warranty.

Yes it's possible CPU manufacture has nothing to do with the GPU you want to use.

There are no benefits with running an AMD CPU along an AMD card, it doesn't matter in the slightlest.

If you want to go with nVidia just go with nVidia. Only thing is you will pay more money going nVidia (compared to going AMD) unless you go used or refurbished.

You can search google "MSI R9 Series Fans Leaking Oil" and find a bunch of users who have the problem, but even MSI Commented on the problem. They blamed miners, which is nonsense since gamers are having the problem too.

I cant access pcpartpicker to give you an idea of which PSU to get.

but if you have time, go to pcpartpicker, put the stuff you want, to see if their compatible, and it would also tell you how much Watt you're using.

but to give you a rough idea, this is my gaming build and im only using 750W.
