  1. Hello, I am thinking about upgrading my hard drive in my notebook. My existing hard drive is working just perfectly, but on the other hand i am jealous about all that macbook users who can use their computers on lap (also on Linus, as he moves his laptop without worries ). The laptop is somehow older, it was "born" in 2009 aproximately, and I can't find information about included sata controller. Anyway, i am thinking of two main candidates for replacement: 1, Samsung SSD840 Pro - 256 GB - 182 € 2, Samsung SSD840 EVO - 500 GB - 245 € Now, the question and problem is. I store complete copy of my iPod music on my computer, what counts ~120 GB, some documents ~5GB, my currents OS install ~42GB, what gives us totally ~167GB used space totally. I could go with 840 pro, make my current drive external and have music there, however i have to connect it whenever i need to sync my ipod / add new music. OR I could go with Evo, what gives me about 2x bigger storage for just 35% higher price in trade with some performance (according to Samsung). Here comes the question (actually bunch of them). Is my laptop even capable of using max speed provided by these drives (as i mentioned earlier, i don't know my sata version). +If YES, is there big difference in performance of these two drives (that i will notice) ? +If NO - are these SSDs just overkill for my laptop and should i go for something much cheaper / older ? ++If yes, can you recommend something to me ? +EVO is TLC, whereas Pro is MLC, some big difference in durability and prolonged usage ? Thanks
  2. I already own last year's generation - One M7, but it would be sweet to upgrade to M8. I really appreciate the design, i hope the winner won't put it in rubber case Good Luck to everyone and thanks Linus Media Group for this opportunity.
  3. I totally agree with this, it seems to work by now. But what about other devices such USB flashdrives, external harddrives, wifi adaptors. Won't they also suffer from this problem ? I need to know, whether USB3 is shitty, or if i did something wrong when installing my os and drivers.
  4. Hello, i have problem with mouse on my pc. My motherboard is MSI Z87-G45, i am using random mouse - Connect It CI-191 - you probably don't know that brand. The mouse sometimes just freezed and then kicked back in. Today i update all MSI drivers and mouse started to stutter even more. After few restarts, it started to hang completely, and even cursor started disappearing. I tried uninstalling mouse driver via Device Manager - didn't help. I tried it on my notebook with win7x64 installed and mouse works perfectly. I also tried my notebook mouse (some random Logitech) in my desktop, and it also freezed sometimes, but not so often. What could be wrong with it ? My temporary solution is to plug it in USB2 port instead of USB3. Is something wrong with my usb3s or even mobo, or what could be problem. Thanks
  5. No brutforce methods available ? What is SID ? I remember exact name of user account, and we could figure out password theoretically. Any chances that the keys are backed up somewhere in system (i think it hasn't been reinstalled completely, just user account deleted).
  6. Hello, i kindly ask for help in hope, that someone will be able to help me. Couple years ago fiend of mine was using windows XP home. She had tons of photos on the harddrive, turned on File Encryption and was using computer normally. Year ago she decided to backup all the photos to external hard drive, so she did, deleted her account on host machine... Everyone forgot about active encryption. Today, i wanted to check the photos, but found that these are encrypted so i am unable to open nor copy them. We plugged external hard drive back to original computer, recreated her account.. We can see thumbnails of photos but cannot open them. File names are green in explorer. In total commander, they have -e parameters. Please, please can you help me ? Those photos are very valuable, shot on already destroyed camera films, so this is only existing backup ;( Thanks
