    Hello,

I'm looking to get a new computer up off the ground and currently can't quite make up my mind.

Apologise in advance for wall of text.

My last computer was an fx 8350 that I built back in 2016 I think? Due to poor research which was prior to that year thinking the new pile-driver CPUs were going to be great, which by the time I pieced the computer I was sadly disappointed and let down after spending $2k to try and get something that would let me play modern games.

I decided that devs just favored Intel because I've had constant issues with drivers for AMD and want to jump on the band wagon w/ Intel so I don't have issues playing games ever again.

Fast forward to now in the present...

The computer finally died, win 7 constant blue screening, video card died, 64 gb ddr3 intact, 1000w PSU, yeah...Im thinking it's time to move on and retire this as an abandonware computer.

Planning for this build now for two weeks and really trying to research on what's been going on in the latest tech. I come to be shocked that Ryzen turned some tables on Intel in catching in potential?

    1. Budget & Location
I'm in the US and my budget is (what I'm trying to shoot for) $1000 but no more than $2000.
($2000 each from Newegg and bestbuy but really trying to not spend $4000)

I'm limited to buying from Newegg and bestbuy currently and while I could buy else where it would mean waiting a month or more.

    2. Aim

    Several things:

1 - one big goal is I'm trying to match pound for pound/price point performance or SURPASS what my family member bought recently from Best buy ?:

    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-omen-gaming-intel-core-i7-9700-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-1tb-hard-drive-256gb-ssd-shadow-black-front-bezel-dark-chrome-logo/6349466.p?skuId=6349466

I've got to play on it and works sufficient (rather jelly because I've only dreamed of getting decent frames) but I'm already aware that I need a little more purchase options than what comes in a prebuilt (and truthfully the idea makes me sick but if desperate I guess I could cave to get one).

2 - I want to run games without having issues, an example would be being able to play Drone strike force.
    1080p is my comfort zone.

3 - Another is running blender and do some computer programming as I actually want to also start working on being a game dev. Mind you this is a lower priority because I don't want to go overkill like my last build and once I get my feet wet and notice I need more power THEN I'll make the decision to power up harder on upgrades for this purpose.

4 - something I'm contemplating is to dip my toes finally into water cooling as I've only ever done air cooling. Kinda tired of dust bunnies and maybe won't be rid of them completely but having animals around maybe it's worth a shot.
Heck maybe Over locking is a possibility?

5 - I have a knack for gravitating towards bizarre/novalty unique and I was actually also thinking of doing a micro ATX computer. Just something different...maybe we make a custom portable slabtop! ? /joke ?

    3. Monitor

Plan to use two monitors, 27" for one and the 2nd haven't really thought that far yet because it's for looking up code on notepad++, web browsing etc so I can see side by side or split task.

    4. Peripherals

I already have a mouse (Roccat Tyon) and keyboard, but my keyboard connector is PS/2. I've been using the same model since 2008/2010 I think? Bought over atleast dozen+ for 0.25 cents each because I liked it so much. Still got more! ?

5 - Why are you upgrading?

My computer is dead and need to upgrade.

This is what I'm currently thinking of (not completely put together either):

    Cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
Mobo: MSI PERFORMANCE GAMING B450M GAMING PLUS
    Memory: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3466

    Storage 1 (Dedicated boot): Toshiba OCZ RD400 M.2 128GB PCI-Express 3.0 x 4 MLC Internal (SSD) RVD400-22280-128G

    Storage 2 (Files and archive): TOSHIBA MG03ACA400 4TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"

PSU: RAIDMAX Cobra series RX-600AE-M 600W

OS: Windows 10 home 64 bit (full retail version)

    Case: *
UNDECIDED / unknown to how cooling would be and direction let alone if components will fit at all.

    Monitor: UNKNOWN*

I'll note, it's been running through my head if there is any merit to making a throw away PC. Because just how often is it we change computers when I keep trying for reliability and longevity (5+ years).

I can't think of anything else, but please halp. Thank you for your time. ?

Because of the new xbox being AMD and having raytracing support, AND its on navi, and the rumours before, its confirmed.

Go for an s5, it has better specs and a 5k camera, also android allows for more feature as and you can add your own apps from a pc with a micro sd card up to 520 gb micro sd card. An s5 is my current daily driver and it is £100  or less on eBay.

Does anybody have any idea on how Much the 3060 will cost in december this year, as that is when i will stop saving a make my build.

This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beexcellent-GM-1-Headset-Comfort-Reduction/dp/B07B3S9WST/ref=sr_1_3?crid=158ZFUMF6QDMJ&keywords=beexelent+gaming+headset&qid=1578335357&sprefix=beexe%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-3
The mic is surprisingly good for a $20 headset.

Thank you for your time i will stick with the 3600 this is for a future build when i have the money. For it i am asking for when the 2060 (what i am planning to use) becomes obsolete.
