Welcome to my upside down, messy man cave (the wife don't mind, it's just the place we dump everything, perfect for my XP build!)
Thinking about doing the room out and having a bit of a gaming room, we shall see.

It's built but with the crap ASrock board, i have to wait a while for my ASUS to arrive, all parts testing and working besides the Corsair sticks.. which is worrying, got the CPU up from stock to 3.4ghz with no voltage adjustment though, CPU cooler is amazing! paid £12 and it never exceeds 42c, not bad for a G31 chipset craptastic board.

Radeon 4850 get's no hotter than 53c and is quiet and i have all settings maxed in ATi CCP which makes Far Cry run at from 49-303fps, 49 when there is a massive amount of dense foliage, transparency AA really taps the GPU out, i shall have to lower it for more demanding games on Windows XP.

Sound card don't work under Windows XP which is a shame, keeping my eyes out for a Audigy S2 instead!

Coolermaster Elite 430 bought second hand for only £10 was a real steal, it has no room to hide cables behind the back of the board, however it has excellent airflow and i quite dig the classic look it has, applied a Core 2 Duo sticker because why not?

Bought a BenQ monitor cheap, does 75hz at 1280x1024, perfect for those older games at 4:3 aspect, and the monitor can deliver Full HD in games that can do that aspect and res.

Settled on the Be Quiet 400W System Power 9, deal was too good to pass up at just £22.99 locally, solid little unit too!

The 240Hz player has .0042 seconds between frames.
The 144Hz has .0069 seconds between frames.
So technically the 240Hz player could see you 2.7ms sooner. It would take the average player 200-300ms to even respond.
So realistically, no, you both appear at the same time to a human.

Additionally, you have to take into account tick rate and latency on servers. Some games have "peekers advantage" where they will see you first due to server latency, refresh rate is not important.

I recorded playing No one lives forever with my shitty phone camera, i will add that to the retro hardware thread i guess, awesome game. steady 50% CPU usage and locked 60FPS with zero drops on the Windows XP build.

honestly I don't care what country rolls out 5G first, as long as I can actually make out people's voices when I get a phone call. Enough bandwidth for intelligible voices is worth it at just about any cost.

Thanks, that's what I was going for. I'm in a rental and my room I use for my office has this horrible double-bank of dodgy 2 CFL tube lights (4 in total) across the whole span of the cieling. In summer the place just cooks. My primary goal beyond the bling was also getting some decent overhead light in the room.

So an addiction is not a valid reason for a couple to split, is that actually your position? Or is it that the man being addicted is the woman's fault? I can't hear you over all the misogynistic stupid coming off of your keyboard.

Edit: I'm done. Mods, whatever you want to do, I understand and won't complain, but I am not going to let some numbnuts say that a split means that one person never loved the other or that one person being addicted to something is somehow the other person's fault. Nope. I did not just survive my own divorce to let some clown come in here with a blanket, stupid statement like that and not get called on it (and called some very nice words compared to what their mindset makes them).

By @LienusLateTips? Then he might provide some insights here. Either way, we can't possibly include all PSUs ever made here, this tier list mostly consists of modern units that you can buy and some older units that were very popular (like Corsair and Seasonic stuff) for the folks that still have them and want to put it in modern PC. Partly because, again, pre-Haswell era reviews are mostly useless for modern PCs and it's not only about topology, maybe it still throws out of spec with cross loads, who knows.

Tier D+ falls slightly behind requirements, but has rather unrealistic scenarios where it'll fail in (3.3v/5v transients, overload ripple and so on)

Im going off the description given to me. That description denotes UNREALISTIC senarios, if the Focus FX has GPU stability issues it should not be in D+ tier as that is a realistic scenario.

ATX specifications matter a lot relating to D+ tier because they only fail under situations basically impossible in modern systems (as denoted in the documentation you told me to read)

If this were the late 90's to early 2000's, when the current revision of the ATX spec leveraged the 3.3v or 5v rail for CPU power, D+ units would be unacceptable due to their exact flaws. Since the ATX spec has evolved and CPU power is drawn from the 12v rail, the 3.3v and 5v rails are under much less stress. I would PERSONALLY argue that between the ATX spec moving CPU power to 12v, and the downfall of the optical drive as well as spinning storage for mainstream systems, a weak 3.3v or 5v rail does not constitute a failure of a PSU.

Sounds like you're the one who needs to read my friend. Here's Intel's spec sheet for the ATX spec: https://cdn.instructables.com/ORIG/FS8/5ILB/GU59Z1AT/FS85ILBGU59Z1AT.pdf

EDIT: That whitepaper ends at ATX 2.2. Though that one DOES prove my point better as it specifically goes through the revision history that shows the addition of the ATX12V connector, it is far from current. Here is the current sheet: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/power-supply-design-guide-june.pdf

I believe this has run its course.
The amount of Floppy disks you would need to install Win10 is enormous.
Attempting to boot Win10 from a floppy disk would a task of grand proportion and quite frankly not worth the cost/time/and most likely not succeed.
