Hi! I'm going to be an undergrad. I'm looking for a laptop for video editing (i use da vinci) and also some gaming. My max budget is 700 USD. Any suggestions? or maybe I should wait another year for other companies to produce laptops using the new AMD chip.

This is what I meant by switch

I've read that a PCIe lane is a connection between the PCIe device and the switch. Which one is exactly the switch? I'm guessing it is located on the motherboard, and it is shown as a "PCIe link" on this picture.

I just wanna know guys. Why Intel named their 2010 micro-architecture 1st gen, while actually they have produced quite a lot of CPU micro-architectures before 2010? Shouldn't they name their first CPU micro-architecture ever the "1st gen"? I'm guessing there is a major difference between the micro-architectures before and after they called it "generations". Thanks guys!
