  1. So a while ago I posted about a ram issue I was having, linux was only seeing 3.8GBs of ram out of my 6GBs i have in my system. I honestly have no clue of whats causing the issue, but some ideas. 1. it could be I have a some bent pins in my CPU socket preventing my bios from enabling the extra DIM slots. (yes my bios DOES detect the other ram sticks, just doesn't want to enable them) 2. I could have flexed my Mobo and that could be a contender for the issue. 3. I somehow scratched my Mobo's PCB are any of these likely reasons for why my bios doesn't want to enable the dim slots? and I did spend hours figuring out the ram layout, I went though my manual and when i did the 3 channel ram mode it just wouldn't post. i tried alternate lay outs. the only layout i could get to work in the single channel mode witch with 2 sticks is very disappointing https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-EX58-UD5-rev-10#ov my cpu is the i7 920
  2. Manjaro says the same thing. 3.8GBs. should I test if one of my sticks are faulty? if so, how?
  3. For the First command it's 5.4.0-7629-generic for the free command total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 4025528 2987920 125692 403188 911916 389164 Swap: 4193784 2042896 2150888 I might switch to manjaro but when I went there my wifi was very slow. even on pop os. but I think i just need to updated the drivers when I get there.

I'm not using a apu. for some reason, when i play on minecraft on windows i get like 150 fps with small stutter. on pop os I get under 120. sorry not related but wanted to add it if that relates to vram on something. yes to my knowledge my gpu is updated
  5. my system IS indeed 64 bit. so how come when I look at my system specs on my pc it says it only has 3.8GBs of ram? again my setup is CPU -111-- my cpu is the i7 920 my os IS 64 bit. I have 6GBs of ram in my system. non of them are faulty
  6. I have 6GBs of ram in my system at the moment and it says i only have 3.8GBs on the about page I'm using pop os 20.04 my motherboard is the. I use 3x2GB sticks Ram my lay out CPU -111--
  7. hold that thought, theses are Ethernet, i don't have a network controller in lspci just Ethernet

RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 03) is what i got from lspci, sorry I must of did it wrong that day
  9. I'm convinced you never read the title. I'm running POP OS 20.04 the gnome version is 3.36.1 I'm running off a WiFi USB chip (witch it's says its a 150 mbs chip) (the router is close I'm right above it, its a 50mb down so I should be fine, my pc is not covered so there's should be not issues but there is) my specs are as follows I7-920 2.6ghz MSI AMD R7 370 2GB 4GBs 1666mhz Ram (although I have 3 sticks with 2GB each so why doesn't my system show that?) My motherboard is GB-ex56-ud5 vs 1 old tech I know but Right now I'm stuck with em till I can save up money and get a AMD ryzen build but here in Canada I'd be lucky to even upgrade my ram smh I even reinstall pop os (witch is my main driver, likely not changing I'm more familiar with it)
  10. this didn't help, i do the steps and in the terminal nothing happens, there's no output being shown
  11. I'm using pop os. 20.04 I double checked the drivers and there nothing else I can install. when I was on manjaro they made me do something with mirrors. Do I still need to do that on pop os?
  12. it's taking me hours to download just 41mbs I'm not close enough to the router to plug it in, nor do i have the cord length. but I'm just above it. it's down to 4.78kbs now 3.48kbs now 1.67kbs now WTF IS HAPPENING
  13. Hello, I am new to Linux (I know the basics, like how to use the terminal) I've been reading and trying some stuff that doesn't work my internet speed is super slow compared to windows 10. on windows 10 I get at least 10mb of download but, on Linux, I'm getting 5.6kb why? I get a 50MB down and 20 MB up I can't even watch videos above 360p whats going on?
  14. I'm gonna start out & say i'm new to Pc So I got this old x58-ud5 mobo pc build my father had & when i load into windows 10, It tells me there's only 2Gbs usable Please I need help, I would like to be able to play games.
