Dust wouldn't suddenly make a 10+ degree difference. It'd be a gradual increase. Either fans in the case or in the GPU are dead, or something is using GPU in the background, or you are just putting more load on the GPU because you turned VSYNC off or something.

lafrente replied to Rien102's topic in Troubleshooting
Can you try one stick of RAM at a time? Try both seperately. -
It will hit 65+ just browsing

Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity

At this point, literally any way Linus reacted, someone would find a fault in it. Linus took it well and improved. And ECC isn't "passing off work to viewers". It's not forced, and it's no different than you pointing out an error in a video by commenting. It's a good idea. -
When ERP is enabled, I have to hit power button like 4-5 or more times to get the PC to boot. No issue with it disabled. I understand it "saves power", but my PC has nothing on once its shut down. No lights etc. Can someone explain what's causing this? I don't like starting my PC like an old car, like pumping the throttle while turning the key. Feels almost like I need to fill it with electricity by pumping the power button when ERP is on. BTW, shorting the pins works fine with ERP enabled. (I don't have to keep retouching the pins, half a second hold boots)

Can you try to boot by holding the power button down for a few seconds? BTW I don't think it's a software issue. No software is loaded until after BIOS.

broken NEED HELP I think I broke components

Try the other card. If that works, whatever you did you may have bricked the other one. -
How is this possible? (Ambient and lowest temp)
lafrente replied to lafrente's topic in Troubleshooting
So they are basically 0C ambient results? Well that is stupid. -
I always saw in Gamers Nexus videos idle temps of 10c, in 21c ambient. How is that possible? Isn't the lowest possible temp 21c in this situation? Did I miss a physics class?

Does it come and go? Maybe connection got loose.

Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity

Drama aside, I really liked how well Linus and the team took this. Ultimately they didn't point fingers at anyone nor acted too big or too important and immediately went to work to amend their mistakes and be better. They could've continued like nothing happened and after a few "dislike waves" everything would be alright on YT. I like that they didn't pick that easy route. -
I think it's the CPU like @Bjoolz said. RMA it. Run HWinfo and check for "TLB Errors", you may see it ramping up as you use the PC.

When I completely remove the electricity to the power cord and PC, and wait a few minutes, it will take 2 attempts to boot. If I wait a bit less, it will boot in first attempt, but it will take a few seconds before I get a light on power button. If I shut the PC down, don't touch anything, wait a minute and press the power button, it will boot normally. So far this has caused no issues. There have been times when PC stayed on for 20 days without issue, and no issue under any kind of load. I am just wondering, why is this happening?

New PC cpu random idle spikes to around 60c
lafrente replied to EchoChain's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, Ryzens act like that. Like hyperactive kids. If you set a static OC, the issue will be gone. They really work more stable with static OC with relatively low voltage. Otherwise it's gonna randomly bump the voltage up to 1.5 or something for the smallest tasks like you opening your browser or a new tab. -
I wouldn't use anything other than PSU cable for PSU just to be safe.
-
It's probably arcing. Try to move the plug that goes into the PSU and see if it stops.
-
Why are you suggesting that he give in to ransom? Do you have any guarantees that he will get his files after payment sent and that they won't ask for another $2k or something? To OP: You've been silly. Now you're paying for it. Unless there is a way to crack whatever extension that is, you have no way to get your files back. Also if you had such important files you shouldn't have been downloading random crack games in the first place, or taken a backup at least.

Would a constantly switching fan voltage do harm to the fans?
lafrente replied to lafrente's topic in Troubleshooting
Then I will adjust the lowest voltage high enough to still be able to spin the fans even if at very low RPM.
