  1. I forgot to mention I am looking for PC. Thanks for the suggestion though Thanks!
  2. I've been looking for a laptop with a high resolution and high refresh rate screen but without any gaming features like a dedicated gfx card. These screens seem to be almost exclusive to gaming laptops though. Why? I have a high refresh rate screen on my desktop and I love the smoothness of it just using it for office work and web browsing, and of course gaming. Won't be gaming on the laptop, that's what my desktop is for. Ideal would be 120hz or maybe 90hz, 1440P or more. Big battery would be a good bonus for travel. Am I looking for a unicorn? Or might there be a laptop with my name on it? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the tips everyone. Good info. Tbh I don't know if my ideal keyboard exists because things I want are so specific. Any build-your-own-keyboard kits out there? Haha
  4. Hi, I am looking for a wireless keyboard with a detachable number pad. I couldn't find much other than the Asus claymore which is just too expensive and is lacking features I want. Any tips welcome. Thanks.
  5. I am going to use the usb 3.1 gen 2 header on my mainboard (Asus maximus xi hero) for the type c port. I just need to replace the physical usb a port of my case's front panel pcb with the type c one and wire it up. I don't have a 3d printer but some black plastic and hand files + epoxy will work nicely.
  6. I have an idea to convert one of my front usb ports on my case from a to c. I have 2 usb 3.0 a ports and one 2.0 port which I don't need so that one is getting the c treatment. What I can't find anywhere is the part like the one in the pic below. Looks just like I need it to, usb c socket that fills up the whole usb a space. I know I'll need to rewire it blah blah, that I can do. Just looking for the part right now. Should be a fun project. Anyone know where I could find this part and what are they called? Or maybe there's a different way people do this? All ideas welcome. Thanks!
  7. Get the highest wattage PSU you can afford. You don't want to be running it at max or near max load all the time when gaming. Higher wattage will account for more overhead in case of a power draw spike and overall will run cooler, quieter and live longer. Also future proof if you want to upgrade later on.
  8. Hey all, I got an 850w evga g3 and its fan is annoying af, even on eco mode watching netflix it turns on every half an hour and is easily the loudest thing in my pc. I got a 9900k oc + 2080ti oc, custom loop cooling, etc. and looking for a good quiet psu for my rig. Please post suggestions. Thanks.

  10. Keeping them sealed for a few years. Cheers.
  11. Does EK cryofuel concentrate go bad if you store it for too long (years)? I have some for next time I need to change it which will probably be a while. Thanks.
  12. No way to adjust the controller is there? I figured it would be the same. I wouldn't want another G3 anyway, or now an EVGA for that matter. They should stick to making gfx cards. Will be looking for a decent psu on sale once I get annoyed enough with this one. Cheers.
  13. Yeah I thought so. Sucks. EVGA should be replacing all these problematic supernova G model psus for free. Guess I'll be waiting until the next sale. Thanks.
  14. I have a EVGA supernova 850 G3 gold psu with an annoying fan problem. With the psu switch on eco mode the fan is off and all is quiet and peaceful for about half an hour. Every 30 mins it decides to freak out and cool itself off with a hurricane of wind before settling down again. The PC is custom water cooled and quiet as a whisper so the psu is easily the loudest thing when it's having its hot flash. All happens while idle or doing some light work or browsing. Super annoying when watching a movie. Besides that it works great. This is a known problem with G3's. I don't want to turn off eco mode because then the fan is on all the time. I'd rather not RMA it and be stuck without a working pc for who knows how long. Is there a fix for this aggressive fan curve? Does anyone know how to adjust this mad fan behaviour or is RMA or getting another psu the only option? I do like this psu and would rather keep it. Maybe a fan swap? I've had it apart before so a techy DIY solution is within my skill level. Thanks
  15. Try completely removing and reinstalling/updating the video driver.
