  1. Thanks @Samfisher, since I want a quiet pc I think about getting the suggested bequiet pure power 11 or something simlar. The only thing I am not shure about if I should get the 600 or 700 watt one (there is no 650). Greetings Michael
  2. thank you everyone for the quick answers, I used some calculators, I forgot to mention I have already 2 WD Blue HDDs, one 1 TB and one 4 TB and with an new SSD like 1-2 TB the power calculators said something like 404 Watts. But thank you for the answer didn't even think about that the PSU could not fit. Apart from the PSU not working efficently (not shure if that is the case with 80+), I wanted to know if the PSUs eveloved in the last 8 years or if their efficency is basically the same as 2012. Also was not shure how big the power loss would be.
  3. Hello Community, from my "old" pc I bought from a colleague, I still have a 1000 Watt PSU (LC-Power LC1000 Metatron Legion X2 Modular 80+ Gold) https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/1000-Watt-LC-Power-LC1000-Metatron-Legion-X2-Modula-80--Gold_788847.html This was released arround 2012. Now this 1000 watt PSU is completly oversized for my current pc and probably for my new one too: Planned for my new PC: Ryzen 3900X A 570 Board 32 GB Ram Noctua NH-D15 Cooler The GTX 1060 6GB of the old pc which will be probably upgraded in then next 1-3 years. But definitly no SLI Case: bequiet 601 or 801 Now this will be probably arround 400 watts, not even in the 500 range to make the PSU run efficent. Now my question is: Should I upgrade the PSU because new ones are more efficent? Or is alread the increased power draw because it is oversized reason enough to justify a new PSU (for like 70 Euroes, havent checked prices? 600-700 watts?). My pc runs about 4 hours a day. PC is mostly used for non gaming not CPU or GPU intensive workload. Greetings Michael
  4. Thanks, actually since the case is open source, I thought about going to a friend of mine with a CNC, but then I saw linus and others reviews and it was said it is loud which was a dealbreaker for me... But thanks and also thanks to SpaceGhostC2C Why must everything pretty on the outside be so ugly on the inside... (or terrible expensive)
  5. Can someone tell me what is the super cool wooden case is that Anthony has for his linux Maschine? I want this case reaaaaalllly bad.
  6. As I Posted in News already: Club 3D (Dutch Adapter Maker) will release end of June (12 days) a Display Port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adpapter for 69 (nice),99. This way Linus could play on his LG C9 in his home at 4k@120hz@HDR if he has a GPU with display compression (DSC 1.2) - so a RTX or AMD Navi or I could play on My LG C955 inch in 4k@120hz (no HDR) on my GTX 1060 6GB (not officaly supported) Would be super exited about a video, also to find out if LG C9 Series really delivers 4k@120hz. And how it works on "Older" GPUs like my 1060 6GB. So far no good english speaking artikles, here one in german: https://www.computerbase.de/2020-06/club3d-cac-1085-adapter/ English Product page: https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2496/displayport_1.4_to_hdmi_4k120hz_hdr_active_adapter_m-f/ 69 Euroes and a afternoon at Linus home for a video I think is not too bad.
  7. Ok, the title is a lie, you can play at the end of June. (12 Days) I am super exited about this and was waiting already over a year for it when they annonced it. Also would celebrate it big time if LTT would make a Video about it and test it out. I would even allow LTT to use the title free of charge. German: https://www.computerbase.de/2020-06/club3d-cac-1085-adapter/?amp=1 Or https://www.pcgameshardware.de/Grafikkarten-Grafikkarte-97980/News/Club-3DCAC-1085-Adapter-1352455/ Didn't find a english speaking article yet, but google translate:https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.computerbase.de%2F2020-06%2Fclub3d-cac-1085-adapter%2F%3Famp%3D1 Edit: now there is a English Product Page: https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2496/displayport_1.4_to_hdmi_4k120hz_hdr_active_adapter_m-f/ Club3d (Dutch Apdapter Maker) will release end of June (so max 12 days) the Clu3D CAC 1085 Display Port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter. So if your GPU has Display Port 1.4 you can play at 4k@120hz or 8k@60hz on your TV if it supports hdmi 2.1 fully (Like Linus LG C9 TV in his living room - and my LG C955-Inch TV which I use as PC Monitor or the Samsung 8K TVs) Sadly if you don't have a RTX GPU or Amd Navi your GPU has no Display Stream Compression 1.2 (so you cannot have 4k@120hz@HDR) and it is not officaly supported, so this also would need to be tested out. Why the hell you want 4k@120hz Gaming? Well, if you have a RTX 2080ti or you want to Play CS GO you could do it. Or you are like me who like to use them Visual Studio and the Windows Desktop at 4k@120hz with my GTX 1060 6GB (Linus please also test with the previous 10xx series ) So what you say? 69.90 Euroes for a Video Linus can make at home? Greetings Michi
  8. hello jones177: Ok, just found the Button below the TV. But you also haven't found a way that the TV turns on when you tun on the pc? Thanks Greetings Michael
  9. Hello dear LTT Community, saw that yesterday Linus released a video about the LG C9 which I am actually using as PC Monitor (but "just" the 55 Inch Version, wanted a 2 in 1 Monitor/TV for my small Studio Apartment). I bought it 2 months ago (For sweet 1399 Euroes) but hadn't had much time to set it up properly yet, and have two Problems which you maybe can help me with: 1. My setup is this LG C9 monitor connected over HDMI to my GTX 1060 6GB. The PC is connected via AUX to my Audio System. Now when I play movies on the PC everything is ok, but since the LG C9 does have no AUX Output I can connect my older speakers only to my PC. Now I thought I could use ARC from the TV to transfer the Audio from my TV to my PC, but it seems Nvidea is not supporting ARC In (Or it is technically not possible, since the GPU would need an Audio In?). Maybe somebody has an Idea about that. Haven't checked: is there a adapter from aux to HDMI?, wouldn't that ruin the sound? 2. Automatic turn on. So far I still have to switch on the tv with the remote. Is there yet a technology to send a wake up signal over HDMI to the TV? Wondering since this exists for so long already. Also it seems the tv also does not support the windows turn off display, since after 30 Minutes the TV just shows no signal. Is there a setting to configure that. Btw: A few tips for people also wanna do that: I first was very disapointed because the graphics looked terrible and pixelated., the TV is by default set to 16:9, so the image is cropped. Set the input to original source. 20:20 hindsight: 55 Inch is way too big for a monitor that is 50 centimeters from your face. Believe the people on the internet.... but it is still awsome...
