Hi,
I encountered a small problem while assembling the computer. The motherboard is ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, the SSD is GIGABYTE Aorus NVMe Gen4 2TB. My question is - which slot should I put the drive in? Both slots support maximum speed for AMD 3rd generation CPU. I read, however, that it is better to place the drive in a slot closer to the CPU, so I placed the drive in the first slot. However, by placing it in this slot, due to the heatsink mounted on the drive, it is not possible to reattach the fan cover of the motherboard chipset. To sum up, should I place the drive in the first slot or in the second slot? Will lack of the fan cover be a problem if I leave the drive in the first slot? Or should I remove the heatsink from the drive and use the heatsink from the motherboard? Thank you for all your help
