  1. Hmm, not for me. My default windows driver is 'High Definition Audio Driver' by Microsoft. For me, if I go to my MB website there are two different drivers: When I install 'Realtek HD Universal Driver', Windows recognizes it as Realtek(R) Audio, but when I install 'Realtek High Definition Audio Driver' it's called, 'Realtek High Definition Audio' in windows. I used to install Realtek HD Universal Driver but it causes problems with nahimic, which is specially made for motherboards embedding an 8th gen intel processor. Realtek is third-party, why would Realtek(R) Audio be the default driver? EDIT: you say Realtek(R) Audio yet the screenshot says High Definition Audio Device. Was that on accident, or am I confused.
  2. Ok, well I am not happy. This update has literally killed my pc. My games just die whenever I start them because they have no idea what to do with the audio. I disabled nahimic mirroring device and A-volute and it still happens. Ughhh, I'm never buying a motherboard with nahimic again.
  3. I have this problem on my pc right now. I know exactly how it got there. My motherboard is an MSI B360 Gaming Plus, and it has realtek audio drivers that use nahimic to be able to control and enhance the audio. I recently did windows updates and one thing that updated was 'A-volute' which is a component type thing for nahimic, I'm guessing this is how you received this problem aswell. I previously didn't have anything nahimic related installed and now it somehow has made it to my pc again via this update. For my pc, nahimic is a piece of garbage that just causes so many issues. I would recommend removing it if possible. I would also recommend making sure 'Realtek High Definition Audio' drivers from MB website are used instead of 'Realtek Universal Drivers' as in my experience nahimic and realtek universal drivers conflict with each other causing annoying frame drops and unstable frame rates in games. I mean this is just me, if everything performance wise seems fine then I wouldn't rather worrying about it. EDIT: don't bother trying to uninstall nahimic mirroring device, it will just reinstall the next time you start up the pc, well at least that's what it did for me.
  4. Also one other thing, something I completely forgot about that is very vital. I have both drives on a single psu sata cable, the power reaches the ssd first then the hdd. Has this been known to cause problems with power usage? My psu is a silverstone 650w essential gold and technically this is what its designed for, so it shouldn't cause problems.
  5. I'm confused now. I don't seem to be getting any lag in the game now. I tried with sims 4 and game feels unsmooth when zooming in and out, but moving the camera with keyboard doesn't lag at all, maybe it's the game. idk anymore I think i'm going crazy. I know it sounds like the problem I have right now, but I would suggest checking to see whether your laptop has 'nahimic' installed, expecially with realtek universal drivers. I had this problem for so long because I didn't think it would be the problem since they are literally drivers designed to work with my hardware. The nahimic stuff literally gave me less fps in games.
  6. The game isn't always loading stuff, but when it does this is what it looks like. Stardew Valley isn't the best game to test it but the responsiveness isn't that bad. It's about 30 on chrome, but that shouldn't matter because I had it closed when playing.\ Ok mister 2tb nvme ssd. It would make sense if it lagged a bit on a much heavier game but it lags on a 500mb pixel game.
  7. As the title suggests, whenever I do something new in any game, such as a an attack or shooting a gun, my games just frame drop and it's super annoying, I have had this problem for a while but recently it feels like it's gotten much worst. I am mostly positive I have found the culprit but i'm not sure how it could possibly be the problem. My first thoughts was it might be a cpu problem, but I while I was troubleshooting I found out it was my HDD, as the problem doesn't occur on my ssd. A game that this is very significant to this problem is Stardew Valley, a game that can run on basically any pc at 60fps no fps drops. I set my display at 60hz and turn vsync on for the smoothest experience (game is locked at 60fps), yet when the game is on my hard drive, it lags when I FIRST use my pickaxe or any other tool, after that I can swing away my pickaxe without any lag at all. I have looked up on the internet for solutions and none have worked. Yes, I could just get a new hdd, but I have only had this one for around a year and it would be a waste of 1TB of storage. I want to know if there is a possible way to fix this without buying a new hard drive (The hard drive is a WD Blue 1TB 3.5" drive). Here is everything I have tried: Complete format of both my drives and fresh windows install. Check with and without proper drivers. Checked both sata cables, both are connected securely Definitely not the games, as this used to not happen and reinstalls do nothing. Did a drive diagnostic with the WD diagnostic tool and all comes out green. Speeds are at its rated speed. Defragging the drive. Used some tool (can't remember what its called) to check each section of the disk and everything was also green. The drive sits at 37 degrees on idle. Much more I can't remember. Maybe i'm dumb and this is normal? I have only had it for a year, I take my pc to lan parties, maybe it got damaged while transporting it, maybe it's not a hard drive problem at all. I have no clue someone make sense of it to me. I can give any other information required.
  8. Ok so I reinstalled the game and started playing normal 1.15.2 and the problem is completely gone. I don't know why the issue was optifine when optifine is supposed to improve the performance and smoothness of minecraft.
  9. I probably should have stated, but I have already searched the internet for solutions. Unfortunately I have seen all of these forum topics before posting this topic.
  10. Yes, it's definitely garbage collection. I used task manager on my second monitor while I was playing the game and nothing happens when it lags.
  11. So when I play minecraft, everything runs completely fine 600+ fps, even when loading chunks and stuff, but whenever the game does its memory garbage collection it causes a massive stutter to the game and its really annoying. I have had this problem for a long time and I haven't been bothered fixing it until now. I know minecraft is coded badly with java, but I don't think it's normal for the game to freeze for a split second (which is quite noticeable) when it does this. Here is a screenshot of minecraft: If you look to the bottom left everything looks fine when its running normally, but on the right is where you can see when it does garbage collection. Here are my pc specs, which are more than overkill to play the game: PC Specs: CPU: Intel i5-8400 CPU Cooler: ID-COOLING Sweden Series Red LED CPU Cooler (using intel stock cooler right now) Motherboard: MSI - B360 GAMING PLUS ATX RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4-2666mhz Storage: SSD - Kingston - A400 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (game is running off this drive) HDD - Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive GPU: MSI - GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8 GB DUKE Video Card Case: Gamemax G561 Black PSU: SilverStone 650W Essential Gold Power Supply All my temps and everything are fine, there is nothing wrong with my system, it's a software problem. I have tried changing the allocated ram as well, but this doesn't fix it. I don't want to waste too much time making this topic, so if anyone else has this problem or has a solution, please reply.
  12. @luzbelivo I know this thread is basically old now, but if you somehow still have these problems, and for anyone else having similar problems, try disabling nvidia high definition audio in device manager. I know it probably is the most least likely thing to cause the issue but you never know, because it actually reduced my stutter in CS:GO.
  13. Well I completely formatted my ssd and redownloaded windows on the usb I used last time and I thought it might have fixed it, but I was wrong. If this doesn't happen to other people then I have no idea. I must have a dodgy cpu or something, or my specific hardware and drivers interfere with windows. Either that or its my G502 causing the problem. I will find a solution one day... EDIT: I found my old gaming mouse (g403 wired) and the problem still persists. Either a windows problem or my specific cpu problem.
  14. Ok well I think the only solution to this is to completely reformat my C drive and install windows entirely again. I guess I'll just have to deal with it for now, I don't think it's affecting my gaming performance.
