  1. Hi, I have a Gigabyte X570S Master motherboard w/ a 5900X, motherboard has 3 pcie slots. I currently have slots populated like this: slot 1 - 3090 slot 2 - pcie nic slot 3 - unpopulated m.2 drives - 2 total Ideall I want to move the nic in slot 2 down to slot 3 for room, but when it's installed in slot 3, it does not work properly. The OS sees it, but does not function correctly. Only when I move it back to slot 2 then it works. Is there some BIOS setting preventing this from working correctly? Or, should it "just work"? Am I out of pcie lanes?
  2. No problems here, I own an XFX 5700xt.
  3. I can tell you that when I switched from a 1070 to a 5700xt, I didn’t uninstall anything. I literally just swapped the cards, booted in to windows, then installed the amd drivers and off I went. Zero issues.
  4. Are you using discord? If so, try disabling hardware acceleration in the app or just exit the app and try your game again. There’s a mention of this in the latest drivers about apps using hardware acceleration in the background causing black screens.
  5. Need more information. What are the temps like for junction and core?
  6. Hence why I went with the older x470! Check VRMs on Gigabyte’s x470 gaming WiFi 7 versus any of their x570 counterparts and you’ll see what I mean. I think they dropped the ball on x570 boards unless you are willing to spend $300+ for the master. So much mis-information being spread here in this thread...
  7. Not to derail this thread, but Ryzen 4000 series should be supported on x470 and b450 motherboards. AMD has said their AM4 socket will last until the 4000 series before an overhaul of the socket is done. This is the very reason I just purchased Gigabyte’a x470 Gaming WiFi 7 motherboard because of its build quality and features compared to their x570 counterparts.
  8. Following up to this. I replaced the PSU with the HX850i and crashes disappeared in Ghost Recon Wildlands.
  9. Hmm at this point I don't think it's thermal throttling. I do run a modified fan curve and thermals never go above 77-78C. My CPU is water cooled and usually sits around 55-60C under load. Case is a Corsair 680X with 8 fans in total, plenty of air flow it seems. I just ran a 2hr run in GTFO without issue which is a fairly demanding game (run at ultra 4k), so this is why I don't think it's a thermal issue.
  10. Recently upgraded to a 5700XT several weeks ago. I think there is a correlation between driver version and my issue but I’m not 100% sure yet. I’ve noticed on 1 game so far, Ghost Recon Wildlands, that after about 15min of gameplay the graphic performance starts getting little freezes, and then after about 20 seconds of this the monitor goes black and shows “no signal”, system seems unresponsive forcing me to hard reset it. Thermals for the GPU are mid-high 70C. I can play other games for hours, GTFO, Risk of Rain 2 without any issues. Current specs: Ryzen 3700X @ stock speeds XFX 5700XT 32GB Corsair RAM 600w Silverstone PSU 8 RGB case fans (w/ H100) Various drives, m.2, sata ssd, 7200rpm drives. I was also thinking it could be a PSU problem, so I’ve got a Corsair HX850i on the way. Thoughts?
