  1. Xbox has its own Game Pass. You can get Xbox Live Ultimate and have access to both PC and Xbox game pass. Think it is like $15 a month though.
  2. Yes, if your GP sub has expired then you can take advantage of this. Just recently re-subbed for $1.
  3. I'm thinking Sony will have its own store to sell PS games. More than that, I think this is primarily about expanding PS Now in the PC space. Right now, it is only useful for streaming PS3 games. But with Sony moving their services to Azure I think they are getting serious about expanding PlayStation beyond the console. Very much like what Microsoft has done with Xbox.
  4. That is a bit broad though. What kind of software do you want to develop? Web? Desktop? Embedded? Mobile? Cloud? Too many to list really.
  5. Electrical components can still break. I see no reason why I would try to be rough with something that can potentially break. Look at the motherboard. You have capacitors being held into place by solder and a piece of metal. That can break. Why intentionally be rough? Doesn't seem very wise to me.
  6. Would love to see how games on this run paired up with an eGPU.
  7. 3Dmark is a decent benchmark guide to go by: https://www.3dmark.com/search#/?mode=advanced&url=/proxycon/ajax/search2/cpugpu/spy/P/1644/894/500000?minScore=0&cpuName=AMD Athlon X4 760K&gpuName=AMD Radeon R7 260X&gpuCount=0 I put in your CPU and the closest GPU to what you have that had results. So change the GPU to RX 560 and you will see the difference in scores: https://www.3dmark.com/search#/?mode=advanced&url=/proxycon/ajax/search2/cpugpu/spy/P/1644/1132/500000?minScore=0&cpuName=AMD Athlon X4 760K&gpuName=AMD Radeon RX 560&gpuCount=0 Change to other GPUs to get an idea of the difference in performance will be and correlate with the prices and see what the best bang for your buck is. Good luck!
  8. Yeah....sounds made up. Only thing that I know of that are interchangeable between Xbox One and PS4 are the thumbsticks in the controllers. I modded my DS4 to use Xbox One Elite (1st gen) thumbsticks.
  9. You can always take your new GPU over to a new build down the road. I mean, after that, a "new rig" is basically a new motherboard and CPU since your RAM is fine and assuming your PSU is capable.
  10. Ah....ok. Very strange. I played P3 on PSP. That was an awesome game.
  11. If you are in school then I would suggest a course that focuses on design patterns for object oriented programming. When I was in grad school I took a course like this and had to develop a traffic simulator using these patterns. It was extremely difficult, but eventually it all started clicking in my head how patterns worked together. I was a better programmer after taking than one course than any other course I had taken getting my Masters degree.
  12. I agree. I think a lot of devs focused on programming targeting the PPU and the RSX like a typical system. But RSX was underpowered from what I understand and you really had to utilize the SPUs in the Cell. I believe that is why so many third party games looked like crap while first party (Naughty Dog's Uncharted, for example) look incredible.
  13. Strange. I played Persona 4 almost all the way through. Never had any problems.
  14. Not sure if that was due to shaming or just common sense. They are not moving from some exotic architecture to x86 this time. It is just an upgrade from AMD to AMD. Backwards compatibility is literally a switch in the bios according to the patents. If they launched PS5 without PS4 compatibility when Xbox will have BC with X1 and partial BC with 360 and OG Xbox then that would be a disastrous launch a la the "used games" fiasco with Xbox One. And I would agree that they want you to buy the PS2 and PS1 games again digitally except for the fact that there are barely even any of the PS1 and PS2 games available for purchase on PS4. Seems for the most part Sony just doesn't care.
  15. PCSX2 recommended system requirements are fairly low. Core series or Ryzen CPU, 4GB RAM, and GPU with DX11 support . But yeah, not all PCs are going to perform great, but any PC the last few years should be able to run it fine. The PS3's Cell processor was extremely complex compared to traditional CPUs and Sony decided a while back to put no effort into emulating it, apparently. This is a big reason why PS Now exists. I expect Sony is dedicated to that service for everything regarding PS3.
