Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Iam_wrosetta_stone in Best Gen 3 Threadripper Cooling options
https://www.kitguru.net/components/cooling/luke-hill/threadripper-3990x-cpu-cooling-comparison-how-to-tame-the-beast/11/
tl;dr Don't buy the Wraith Wripper TR4 or bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 TR4.
Noctua U14S is still your best bet unless you want to deal with an AIO for a workstation, which is highly not reccomended.

Came with some random crap on the screen but after I wiped it off with the 'special cloth' it's amazing.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from doinurmop in New chair suggestions
Staples Hyken/Dexley.
Why are you trying to convince someone on a budget to drop $1000 on a chair?

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Mister Woof in i7 8700k with a 3080?
I wouldn't use a 3080 with a 1080p 144hz

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from medium_tuna in 1660 Super + Ryzen 7 3700x build
Seems like a weird combo to use a 3700X and a 1660 Super even more so with Zen 3 around the gate. I'd say 120 Fps? Maybe closer to 100

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Deli in I got my first 4k monitor and I am a little dissapointed.
XG27UQ isn't such a special monitor, nothing about it is super noticeable. Make sure you're using DP and DSC enabled. What GPU do you have? It might be running with shitty colors
Anyways, whoever says they can't notice a difference between 4K and 1440p must have terrible eyesight. The difference is there but if you just want to game I'd stick with 1440p 144hz

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from bluehillday in are the arctic p12's silent fans?
They are quiet but not really silent.
If you have shitty hearing and claim everything is 'inaudible' maybe. I've heard people say their H100i / H150i is inaudible under full load with a 10700K.
Keep them below 1200 RPM at max load and you'll be good.

Duckson McQuack reacted to Slottr in why cant i pre order any rtx 3000?
They're probably annoyed from people asking

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from shaunakde in Comfortable headphones: How accurate are the Rtings.com ratings?
I've been wondering too since I dunno about their more technical ratings for something that's very preference oritented like headphones.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Harit Paurana in 360Hz monitor worth buying over Samsung Odyssey G7?
There isn't, if you're not going to play LoL or CS:GO competitively.
The fact that the 360hz costs the same is really a waste of time.
I would just grab the G7 or even a 27GN950 and call it a day.....
$700 for a 1080p display is nuts.

That's horrible.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Is the 980 ti a good gpu for 2020 ?
What currency are you talking in? USD is not the same as say AUD or CAD.
-
Duckson McQuack got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Is the 980 ti a good gpu for 2020 ?
$200 980 Ti is not really a good deal anymore. Get a 1070.
However $70 for a 980 Ti on EVGA's B-Stock store is quite good. I'd get that instead, if you can checkout before the bots.
The PSU may or may not work.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from circeseye in Has anyone used a OLED TV as your main monitor for over 1yr?
I only use mine for gaming.
I would not use it as a desktop monitor since burn-in is inevitable.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Teddy07 in Wait for new Ryzen or buy 3800x
Zen 3 desktop parts will be releasing in COtober.
Just wait.....
4790K is worth about $100

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Keepit1hunned in RTX 3080 Content Creation Build
Note: B550 support PCIe Gen 4 SSDs.
850W is plenty since the 3900X isn't really a power hog.
I would go with a PCIe Gen 4 drive since I don't think you would benefit from a 5000 Mb/s drive.
Case - I'd go with a P500A/Lancool II Mesh. Define 7 if you want to use a bunch of drives.
Doesn't seem like your needs are super demanding. Will 3080 be necessary?
-
Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Bombastinator in Laptop + eGPU planning
Your eGPU will not let you use the 2080 Ti properly.....
It's technically PCIe Gen 3 x4 bandwith.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Mateyyy in eATX Motherboard with 8 RAM Slots?
They don't exist for LGA1200.
You're looking at HEDT. Why do you need to upgrade from your 9900KF? It seems more than enough for gaming, really.
8 DIMMs is quite difficult to run as well.

Duckson McQuack got a reaction from Lurick in flammable air?
It shouldn't be. Besides nitrogen, the vast majority of the balance is oxygen and argon, neither of which is flammable. If you're talking about the canned stuff, it's the propellant that's flammable.
1,1-difluoroethane is a common one.
