  1. Ended up being the HDMI I cord I was using. I thought I had tried multiple different cords when trying to fix this the other day but guess I didn't. Thanks for the quick response.
  2. I sold my GPU the past week, with intentions of only running an APU but it is only recognizing one display. It is only recognizing whichever display i connect with display port. The HDMI port on the Mobo does not work. Is there something I need to enable in the bios. I know for a system running an GPU and APU, there often is but I can not find any settings for just an APU System: AMD Ryzen 5 5600g MSI b550 gaming plus Asus ROG Swift PG259QN
  3. Never replaced it. Will give it a try. Never kept a mobo over 2-3 years, so didn't know replacing it every 5 was normal
  4. I am using old hardware while i work on upgrades and have been having a weird boot issue. My computer black screens every once and a while and I have been having issues after editing settings in the bios. These are leading to the computer not posting and getting a flashing 90 and 99 error upon boot. The solution has obviously been to reset the cmos battery but this doesn't work every time. The only full proof solution has been to boot without an peripheral or wifi adapter connected. I found this solution in some other forum but without an explanation as to why the usb devices are potentially causing boot issues. I am less worried about the boot issues and just curious as to why that solution has been the only full proof one. Any ideas? Mobo: MSI z97sli krait edition CPU: I7 4790k Ram: 16gb of something storage: 1 tb nvme gpu: 6800 reference
  5. Thank you for the response and info. Ended up finding an easier solution. I was able to just revert back into windows 10 instead of 11 and that fixed the issue with the game. Even with it set in UEFI mode, my computer wouldn't post after after turning CSM off. Potentially some sort of compatibility issue or I was not doing something right. Regardless, any solution where I don't have to tinker with the boot process is probably optimal, considering I know nothing about it.
  6. In order to play fifa 23 on my pc I have to enable secure boot in my bios. I have an old motherboard and after I enable the windows 8.1/10, change my secure boot mode to custom, enroll all factory default keys I get a warning saying I need to disable CSM in setup and reboot. After I reboot, my computer isn't posting and I have to reset the cmos. My computer is already in UEFI. I am not sure how to disable CSM in setup or really understand what that means. I am not terribly familiar with boot processes. From what I understand my gpu is compatible with UEFI. Some are saying I have to convert my boot drive form MBR to GPT but my computer is already posting when booting in UEFI. Not sure what I am doing wrong. update: my partition style is definitely GPT this is the actual warning : "Warning: CSM is loaded! Disable the CSM in setup. Repeat operation after reboot to ensure UEFI Video (GOP) driver is operational." Hardware: Warning this computer is ancient. It is just a placeholder i scrounged together out of old parts. Motherboard: z97s sli krait edition GPU: GTX 9502gb SSD: 1tb nvme CPU: some ancient i5 another edit: potentially found a solution. Will update incase someone ever comes across this. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/753879/need-help-enabling-secure-boot-tpm-on-msi-z97-mpower-mb/
  7. Check image for issue: https://imgur.com/uCbxAde This is the third time this has happened and I am constantly having to power cycle it because it shuts on and off while I am gaming. It is a 700 dollar monitor and I am outside of the warranty date. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Should I contact Asus and try to get a replacement sent?
  8. I was swapping cards in my mining rig this morning and accidentally had one PSU powering the riser and the other powering the GPU. Apparently this can create problems. The card I did it on is not posting now. The fans power on but it won’t post. I have gone through the list and have tried it in multiple rigs, with a litany of different hardware. I am 99 percent sure it is the GPU. Have gone through 3 hours trying every normal troubleshooting method. It is also possible I might have damaged some of the pins but I don’t see any visible damage. what should I be looking for if I tried to repair it? Any YouTube vids? Forums? Not a ton of info on repairing out there any reputable GPU repair services. It is a custom painted 5700xt, which brings in 2k plus a year. Don’t mind paying a decent fee to fix it.
  9. Neither am I. Looks like I have some research to do. Thank you though
  10. Yes but you only want one powering each GPU. Apparently when both are plugged into it, it can create problems. I was swapping cards this morning and didn’t realize
  11. Well. Think I figured it out. I have two power supplies for my mining rig and my sleep deprived ass accidentally had one powering the riser, while the other PSU was powering the card. Not sure what that would do exactly but can’t be good and likely explains the not posting and fans still spinning. Fuck
  12. The riser is. I also tried it within each of the slots within each mobo. Afraid I shorted it or damaged something I don’t have the capability to fix
  13. Z97sli Krait edition and an old i5. The other system I tried it in has a 3900x and a asus tuf gaming.
  14. This is likely what I mean. Wasn’t sure what that was called. I don’t see any visible damage but I am running out of options for what the damage could be. The card hasn’t sat right in some PCIE slots for awhile but has always worked in my riser and bottom slot. That stopped today though. Will post a picture in a second
  15. I was being careless while pulling my 5700xt out of a riser and am pretty confident I damaged the pins. Fans spin but card doesn’t post. I went through all the steps and have 3 other systems to test. The card is the problem in every one. Any reliable third party repair services? I voided the warranty. If not, I guess I am stuck selling for parts unless there is a way to fix them. picture: https://imgur.com/gallery/pf8war1 i don’t see any visible damage but am almost 100 percent sure it is the card
