Hello .. I could use some advice .. I really want to get back into NES and SEGA games .. but don't really have the room to store everything so we looking into those devices that have the hundreds of games installed on them .. but I remember a video Linus did where most of those were bad .... So wanted some advice on if there is a unit I could buy that was good ... Hope that makes sense .. Thanks for the help ..

Yeah I had thought about BackBlaze the trouble is my current backup size is pushing close to 10TB worth of data ... trying to upload that to them would take months , plus I cant afford the monthly cost .. That is why I was trying to figure out something local ..

Hi Everyone , Need some advice ... I am trying to find a way to backup all my current / furfure systems .. Currently I have a Windows 11 , Windows 10 , and a Truenas computer ... Right now my Windows computers backup to a 2 day Synology and the TrueNas backups to some USB drives I had laying around .. What I am trying to plan is a single box that will back everything that I can grab and run if my place ever catches on fire or something happens .. My plan was to get a Synology DS1621+ and have everything back up to that .. But with the cost of it I am wondering if building something might be cheaper .. I saw a video about that Jonsbo N3 Mini .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en7R_HB5pm4&t=1374s I already have hard drives I can use just need a case and the cast of the parts .. Trying to keep it same and compact .. So thought I would ask here for advice and see if anyone got back to me .. Thanks for the help ..

I will be glad to help out as well .. been waiting for bigger shirts for years .. 1. I normally wear either a 4x or 5x depending on the shirt .. with my wide shoulders its hard to say at times .. 2. I am 5" 11" 3. No issues with pics as I cant do local I am in Orlando FL .. Hope to hear back .. StarTrek133

Thanks @SVThuh I did not think of UnRaid as I thought you had to pay for that .. But if it will let me do raid , and a windows VM .. then it might be worth looking into .. Hhmm interesting ..

Hey @tkitch I don't know why either .. I had a bunch of people helping me in the fourms and no one could understand what was going on .. I would create the pools , datasets, user, permissions, everything like it says in the video and when you try to access from a windows machine you just keep getting the username and password prompt over and over and over again .. no matter what you did never worked .. Also I could never get a vm to run either .. keep saying the drive wasn't there when you went to the pool it was there .. So I don't understand it was my first try at TrusNAS and I really wanted it to work .. As I wanted to not have to deal with a hardware raid card .. But what else can I do ..

Sadly I tried to do a TrueNas Scale system and after a week of trouble shooting and trying to get help from the community we never got any of the SMB shares to work and the VM's would not start either .. So I gave up and went back to what I know which is windows based .. Which is a shame as I didn't want to spend the extra $$$$ on a new raid card but what was I going to do ..

Thanks Everyone for the advice .. I am just hoping it will help the raid card not lag or hiccup when its trying to read and write .. So that is why I thought a Cache drive would help .. I also need to know how to create that cache drive as its something I have never done before .. I would assume its in computer management but also could be wrong .. Thanks ..

Hey Guys, I need some help .. I am currently building a Windows 11 Media / NAS box .. I have a spare 256gb SSD that I want to use as a cache drive if I can .. I have a 256gb M2 drive for the OS and then a Raid Array for all my data .. So hoping I can make a cache to help the Raid Array to not slow down or chug .. if that makes sense .. Thoughts ?

Yeah @LIGISTX I am surprised too as to the issues I have been having ... That is why I was thinking of moving away from Hardware raid and using something like Unraid / TrueNAS .. Never thought of using those as the base OS and then running a VM .. that is a thought as well .. if I go that route I am not going to use the raid card and just use the onboard sata ports to plug all the hard drives into and then a M.2 for the OS drive .. @Fl0yd- thanks for the advice .. I have already done that and as its an older raid card there is no updated firmware for it .. and I have already replaced the battery as well ..

Thanks @An0maly_76for the information .. the trouble with mirroring is it would put the drive into a format that when I redo everything I would have no way to copy it back .. Hope that makes sense ..

Hey Everyone, Need some help / advice .. My current data drive is a hardware raided drive .. I need someway to clone that array so I can pull the hard drives and use them in the new array and then copy everything back .. The computer that the array is currently in is a windows 10 machine .. I could use the file explorer and do a copy and paste , but we all know how good windows is at that .. So looking for some other software that could help .. Thoughts ? advice ? Thanks ..

Hi Everyone, Need some advice / help .. Currently I am running a windows 10 computer with a LSI MegaRaid SAS 9260-4i ... the computer itself is an I5-3470 with 16gb of ram .. Its been running great for years , but its starting to show its age and I am getting a bunch of buffering and times out and such .. Currently I am just running Plex , Shoko Server ( for anime ) and some windows network shares .. nothing to fancy So I am looking at upgrading it .. Option 1 : TrueNAS or Unraid - never work with these so unsure about them , also not sure about Plex or Shoko Option 2 : New Windows Build - could do this would just need a new raid card as the current one only has 4 ports and looking to upgrade to 6 hard drives instead of 4 .. Option 3 : QNAP or Synology Thoughts ? ideas ? Thanks ..

Hi Everyone, Need some help .. I have a TCL Roku tv and I used to be able to stream my windows 10 computer too with a wireless dongle .. I have since upgraded to a new computer with built in wifi and windows 11 .. now I can no longer stream to the tv like I used too .. I reached out to TCL and they were no help .. rest your tv , rest your tv and so on .. Does anyone have any advice ?

Hey Everyone .. thanks for the help so far .. .I have already replaced all the o-rings in bottom Res .. I have also used the EK-Leak Tester as well on the loop .. The loop itself is fine but for some strange reason the Pump/Res both have a slow leak .. what is also strange is that there is pressure because when trying to take the tops off there normally stuck down from the pressure or running the system .. I wanted to the dual pumps for redundancy as well .. I also wanted one loop with the double Rad for max cooling .. Also for those who wanted to know its a Corsair 900D Super Tower Case ..

Hi Everyone .. So I have been working on this build for 2 years now and now that I have everything needed I have ran into a few issues and need help .. So I figured out why I was leaking from the bottom of Res A .. It was because having two pumps running full speed I was getting back pressure and causing it to leak from the bottom .. By slowing the pumps down to 20% (1500 rpm) that fixed the issue .. But now I have another issue .. what is slowly happening over time is Res B is draining into Res A and causing the fluid to raise to the top and leak out the top .. I have tried turning Res A pump up to move the fluid out faster , but didn't solve the issue .. Any thoughts / advice .. Really dont want to do dual loops as I am not sure how I would run the lines .. but might have too I dont know .. Thanks ..

Was looking over @The Flying Sloth guide and from what I can gather it seems like there is no all in one unit for this and that you have to multi parts in order to get everything to work .. Maybe I am wrong , I dont know .. New to the game so not sure what I need or what to look for .. So I dont know ... I just want something that is good so people will stop saying they cant hear me when we are trying to play games on discord among other things .. but also dont want to spend $$$$$$$$$$ to do it ..

Maonocaster Lite its like $130 bucks and you get both a mixer and microphone .. but the reviews seem to be 50/50 .. I dont mind spending some money on something .. but as I said before a SM7B and a Go-XLR are way out of price range ..

Hello Everyone, I need some advice .. My old V1 Blue Yeti usb microphone is on its last legs ... It doesn't work well in discord anymore and my work video streaming programs like MS Teams , Zoom people are having a hard time hearing me .. So I am looking for some advice as for what would be a replacement .. Sure I would love to get a GO-XLR and a Shure SM7b .. but at almost $1000 bucks that is way out of my price range .. I have seen a bunch of Maono Maonocaster products that seem like they could be ok .. But thought I would ask around and see what other people thought .. I would like to get something that would also allow me to stream once I get my new computer built .. Any advice would be great .. Thanks ..

Hi Everyone, Hope everyone's weekend is going well .. I need some help / advice .. I am currently working on building a new computer using EKWB black Nickle fittings .. but I am running into two issues 1. what can I do to clean the fittings ? I am currently doing my dry fit up and the fittings have my finger prints and other stuff on them .. So for the finally assembly I am going to use rubber gloves but before that how can I clean the fittings ? acetone ? or ..... 2. easier way to insert the tubbing ? My other issue is trying to insert the hard line tubing into the fitting even with all my might at times it never seems to got in straight or all the way .. I was thinking of using wd40 but I know that would so horrible bad but I just dont know what else I could use .. 3. a way to tighten the fittings ? also looking for a way to tighten the fittings up as all I have are metal wrenches and plyers both would mark the Black Nickle .. I tried looking for some type of scrap wrench at Lowes and Home Depot but everything they have is Hugh and wouldn't fit in the case .. So any advice would be great .. Thanks ..

I have a brand new install of windows 10 and I cant even get the Armoury software to install .. all I get is a black box that flashes up on the screen and then nothing .. put a ticket in with Asus and its been 2 weeks now with no update ..

Hi Everyone, Need some help / advice .. I am working on a new build slowly and I got it semi up and running .. but I need some help .. I am trying to run a small 7" screen off the usb 3.0 header on the motherboard or the usb 3 port on the back io to use a Aida64 senor panel .. but no matter which port I plug into the screen never lights up and displays anything .. now I am also running a cheap video card as well .. I used to use Roxio Creator NXT 6 Pro .. but its so out of date it doesn't run on my machine anymore .. Was thinking about upgrading but its over $100 bucks and really didn't want to spend that ..
