  1. I was considering setting up my own NAS server to serve essentially as a cloud server using open media vault on a pi 4, To my understanding for the server to be available outside my personal network i would need to port forward this. I have port forwarded game servers before, however i am unsure of whether port forwarding would create a vulnerability in the network. Would port forwarding something like this cause any network vulnerabilities ?
  2. My flashback led is now a solid re light and the EZ debug led is indicating a problem wih the cpu

Hi I tried updating my pc's BIOS through Live update on Dragon center, however during the system reboot after the update my went onto a black screen, I left it for around half an hour before trying to restart the system and it didnt work, i turned of the power supply and tried to start again to drain the system however there was no change, I am unsure of what to do next. Any help would be really appreciated My Specs: Ryzen 3 3200g (stock cooler) MSI X570 A-PRO 8gb Corsair vengeance LPX DDR4 3000mHz Msi Geforce GTX 1660 gaming X EVGA 500w PSU and incase its relevant: Sandisk 480gb ssd (Boot Drive) 250gb hdd 480gb hdd

I frecently set up a server at home store back-up's, media, etc. and have been succesful thus far in accesing the device through file explorers netork section on my laptop, however when i tried to access it from a desktop pc on the same network it wont come up under the network section, allow of my network and sharing settings have been changed to supposedly fix this however i have been unsuccesful. Does anyone have any experience with this issue any help would be really appreciated
  5. My BIOS didn't recognise the installation media or the OS drive after i installed it onto another device The old system i'm using has an i5 2400 ,8 gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 500gb hdd Not completely sure with what you asked on the last question quite new to this server thing.

  7. I was wondering what free OS distributions are available that have a good GUI and also have good software to allow easy upload/download remotely, I'm using this to create a home data server to do backups and store media etc. What OS would be best for this ?
  8. Im Fairly sure my BIOS supports USB booting as a tested with Ubuntu installation media and it seemed to rcognise that, also i followed the youtube FreeNAS guide on how to make installation media so i'm 99% sure thats not th issue however ill have a look
  9. I was inending on installing FreeNAS to run a home server through an old desktop however my BIOS doesn' seem to be recognising my installation media for the device under my UEFI boot sources. Does anyone know how this can be fixed?
