  1. I don't understand the reasoning behind this. Is there a drawback to a NVME drive? The intent of this build is to upgrade beyond a $700 price range. Why would I constrain my SSD to a SATA 3 interface when I can draw the extra performance from using the PCIE interface? https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-970-Evo-NVMe-PCIe-M2-500GB-vs-Crucial-BX500-960GB/m493995vsm666214
  2. good to know. what would you recommend for an SSD? All i really know about them is NVME is the best price to performance value and that's about it. I just picked a higher rated one.
  3. Thanks man. I think they only have the tomahawk max mobo in ATX style and not in mATX for the mATX case. They featured that power supply in today's video. 80+ Gold certified for $70 hard to beat.
  4. My Nephew was asking for some help building a gaming PC. He just got out of school and doesn't have a decent job yet. So I put together a quick and cheap PC that can be upgraded to pretty much any price range if you wanted. I think a video on a budget, upgrade as you can, PC like this would be awesome for a lot of us who don't have a bunch of $$ to spend now and want to get started as quickly as possible. I value engineered this. Some of these parts may have been on a discount at the time of choosing so be sure to compare similar products for better pricing before you buy. I live in the US. Would love to hear any/all feedback on this. I didn't put much time into the Money Burning option it sort of turns into a completely different build once you get into those prices. Starting build - ~$430 https://pcpartpicker.com/user/grompy/saved/qJqx6h Low budget upgrades - ~$800 to ~$950 (1080P 75hz) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/grompy/saved/vfRL23 Mid Range upgrades - ~$1100 (1080P 144hz) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/grompy/saved/C8ywhM Money Burning upgrades- ~$2250 (1440P 165hz) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/grompy/saved/CCqx6h
