I'm sure they are compatible. As for the BIOS version, I'm not sure it's up to date. How can I check without being able to turn on the computer?

Hey nerds, So, I just "finished" my first PC build again. I had this problem before but got word I probably had a bad/mediocre psu so I bought a new one. I've linked all the new parts I used below. Yet I’m still having the same issue. At first, I turned on my power supply and pressed the power button on my PC and all the fans worked, the RGB came on, all was well with the world, and then it just shut off. Didn't even make it to post. When I try to turn it back on, the top EZ Dedug LED flashes once (red) , followed by the flash of the other three lights (also red). The tiny motherboard fan at the bottom also begins to spins but stops almost immediately. It all happens very quickly, but I've attached a video of it anyway. Even though it started it up with no problems the first time, I can even get it to turn on now. Any ideas on what might be wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks guys, all advice welcome. Cheers. Firstly, thank you to everyone that responded. Every review helps in some way. I did buy a new power supply. It’s a EVGA 600W. Unfortunately, though, I am having the same exact problem. Still the CPU red blink and no power. I pulled my motherboard out to make sure there were no broken pins, etc. And all of my cables I believe are in the right place, including my 24 pin power cable. Please help!!!!

Hey Nerds, So, I'm looking for a power supply. My parts list is below. I'm hoping to stay in the $50-ish range. My problem is that I require a 8+4 pin for my CPU. I suppose that's normal, but I am a complete newb and this is my first build. When looking for a power supply, I've looked for that in the connectors description, and don't see that. I'm a bit confused. Is a 8+4 pin the same as a EPS12V, or should I be looking for a power supply with a 12 pin eps? I'll admit I have no idea what I'm doing here. I thought having enough wattage was enough, but it clearly wasn't. Any suggestions on what power supply I should go with, or maybe an explanation of what exactly I should be looking for would be really helpful. Like I said, I'm completely new at this. From my research, it seemed that having enough wattage was good enough to purchase my power supply. I knew next to nothing about compatible cables, etc. But, I'm living and learning as I go. Thanks for your advice. I will be returning my ps and going for something at least A-, like you suggested.

Hey Nerds, I’m planning my first build and I’m stuck at storage. The motherboard I have is: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard. The storage I want is: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (2TB, pt # ST2000DM008). I looked on the motherboards website for compatible storage and didn’t see the Barracuda I want, but a friend told me that sometimes the sites don’t have every compatible part, so the storage I want may still work. Does anyone know if this combo will still run okay? Thanks for helping this newbie, I appreciate any and all advice, Cheers!

Hey everyone, Newbie here. I'm going to start my first build soon. Just purchased a Ryzen 9 3900x for my CPU, which pretty much blew most of my budget, but, I was recently given a GTX 1070 for pretty cheap. I know bottlenecking is going to happen, but, would it be so severe that no one with a brain or any kind of experience would dare use it in this build? My build is not necessarily for gaming. More for productivity. I'll be modeling and sculpting in 3D (blender, ZBrush) and doing some game development (unity) and plenty of drawing (photoshop). I plan to have a good amount of memory and storage, and a nice power supply that should be pretty future-proof. Main question: can I get away with this GPU without loosing performance where I'd need it? Thanks everyone in advance, All advice is helpful. I'm learning as I go, but would love to be as educated as I can going forward. Saving money is awesome, learning something new is priceless.

Hey Techies, I am a 3d modeler/game developer. I'm working on my first PC build, but I'm stuck between GPU's. I just ordered the Ryzen 9 3900x for a CPU, and I'm still doing research on RAM and storage and the like, but I've included a list below of my current build specs, if you're interested in looking or need it for comparison reasons, etc. Anyway, I'll be modeling mainly in blender, as well as doing some rendering, sculpting in zbrush, I'll be doing game development in Unity, as well as some photo editing in Photoshop. Of course the best GPU one could get is probably the 2080 ti, but that is way outside of my price range. I'm really trying to stay in the $300 range, so the p2000 is probably the best quadro I could get, and the 1080 is probably the best GTX I could afford. The RTX line is also a contender, and it seems that the RTX 2060, is closest to my budget. I like the p2000 because it's geared towards artists, but it's kind of old at this point. I like the 1080 because it's current, but it is at the top of my price range (possibly outside of it). I like the 2060 because of it's ray tracing abilities. Any help would be appreciated, guys. Sup Techies, So, I’m working through my first PC build, and I need some advice before going forward. I haven't purchased anything yet, so my options are still flexible. For context reasons, my pc will be heavily used for 3D modeling, some rendering, sculpting, as well as animations. I’m talking blender, maya, zbrush, unity, photoshop, etc. No email checking, or streaming, or 4K editing or anything of the sort. The only gaming I’ll be doing is testing my own, so I guess FPS is important in that respect. I think I'm gonna go with a Ryzen 9 3900x for a CPU and a MSI GeForce RTX 2080 super for a GPU. I'm hoping that, along with my other build materials is gonna make a really powerful, able-to-handle-anything build. But, I'm having trouble matching my motherboard with my build. I've never built a PC before, so if anyone can suggest something that would be compatible with my parts for cheap, or offer some advice on how to go about checking myself would be awesome. I am between a thread ripper 2920x and an intel i7 9700k. The extra cores in the thread ripper look good for rendering, but it seems the processing power and clock speed of the i7 are better for sculpting and modeling work. I am torn and not sure if either have a leg up that I may have overlooked. I am working my way through this build research by research and every response or piece of information helps. The only gaming I’ll be doing is testing my own, so I guess FPS is important in that respect. Anyway, I’m trying to match the best (and most cost-friendly) CPU with my chosen GPU, a Quadro RTX 4000. I was told by a professional that the i9-9900k was one of the best and latest to do what I need it to, but of course he’d suggest something so high in price. Ive done a little more research, though, and in addition to being very pricey, I hear it’s really not worth it. I’m not as advanced in the tech field as some of you guys, so I’m not sure if that’s true for what I need it for. I checked the i9 CPU against my chosen RTX 4000 GPU and I’m actually getting results that the combination would result in bottlenecking. I know bottleneck calculators are a bit arbitrary to some, but I don’t have much to go on. The benchmarks seem fine to my noob eyes. I was also considering the Core i7-8700K. Running that through a bottleneck calculator yields much better results, and is a little easier on the wallet, but again, I’m not sure. To be honest, I’m not even sure that the GPU I’ve picked is a good choice for what I need it for, nor that my two top CPU options are relevant to my work. A threadripper could be my best option for all I know. I am working my way through this build research by research and every response or piece of information helps.
