  3. the 3700x would be my preference, just for the fact its newer, so should in theory, outlast most others before needing an upgrade. What is the difference in ram modules now? Ten years ago there was very little difference between performance unless you opted for really high end modules, which nobody could afford. There seems to be a fairly wide range of prices, for apparently similar spec, unless I am missing something. I saw you picked a 144Hz monitor, is there much advantage to this over a 75Hz? I'm a pretty crap gamer to be fair and, what with pushing 40, i'm not sure I can make the most of the increased refresh rate....my reaction times are only ever going downhill from here!
  4. The monitors don't need to be anything special, I'm looking at a pair of these at the moment at £110 each as a reference. https://www.amazon.co.uk/iiyama-G2530HSU-B1-G-Master-Monitor-FreeSync/dp/B071JH67KN/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2LUJ441OYNA0X&keywords=75hz+monitor+24+inch&qid=1576080326&sprefix=75hz%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-2 What is the advantage of spending £169 on ddr4 3600 memory vs £70 on Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K8G4D32AESBK 3200 MHz, DDR4, DRAM, Desktop Gaming Memory Kit, 16 GB (8 GB x 2), CL16, Grey ? Also is it worth finding the extra £100 for a 3rd gen AMD or would that be over powered? Did i mention its been a while since i looked at pc parts??
  5. Hi all, I used to build pc's about 10 years ago but am now completely out of touch with modern components. I'm based in the UK and have a budget of around £1000 for everything. I want a twin 24" monitor setup, that will be used for programming and some gaming. Ideally being able to play COD and cs:go etc. Thanks
